In your waking life, are you feeling weighed down a bit by responsibility? Have you due for some time off? Perhaps you feel pressure to 'grow up'?

This dream makes me think you're protecting your own inner child, the part of you that still looks at the world with fun and wonder.

Here's my opinion if it helps....

Without us knowing
1) your relationship to this boy in real life
2) your relationship to the parents of this other boy in real life
3) possibly some interesting circumstances you share with each

It's nearly impossible for anyone to really give you a good interpretation. Dreams to me are all about the interconnected relationships between people and your personal experiences with them. Knowing this then one can begin to interpret the situations and imagery seen in dreams to a greater degree.

You say His son.
So I assume you are talking of a real person you know.
If you feel that strong about that dream go investigate it and see.
