Different levels of karma

Do you think different levels of good karma exists?

I mean, if you do something nice to another, does it count whether you do it on their preferences or your own?
For example, if you want to give a person something that they've honestly told they like, even if it isn't what appeals to you, could it affect more positively on your karma than if you want to give them something you think they like when they actually don't but may still appreciate your thought? This latter could be thought as in projecting your own expectation or preferences on them while the intention itself is still benevolent?

Perhaps in simpler form, would thoughtfulness towards another count in this matter?

Kamma basically means intent, and it this context would pertain to goodwill, but it's delicate because people can confuse their own desire to be appreciated with their wish for the happiness of others, for example. It thereby brings one back to a fundamental honesty with themselves, which the 'guiding light' so to speak.

Pure & selfless intention supercedes any
form of acts done to manipulate karma.

It will not work.
Meaning, you don't act simply on the
basis of whether it will be good/bad
karma for ME.

The Universe keeps score & knows the
authenticity of souls.

Regarding karma, the best explanation I could find is in Annie Besant's "The Ancient Wisdom".

Mmm. Thanks!

Seeing things from two very different perspectives is usually the problem when it comes to understanding these concepts, just feels it takes long time to ponder before "grasping" what it truly means.

Thoughtfulness counts more than appreciation, as people are not very inclined to be overly appreciative
