I couldn't spank monkey mind. The more I tried the more the monkey talked. Over the years I've finally managed found tips and tricks to help beginners quickly advance in their meditation. Most people have trouble focusing or staying awake. One of the biggest meditation problems.

In my first good meditation experience I felt like I could be in the body and shape of anyone. I could fly and move freely. Never did astral trips though.

I still see myself as an unskilled beginner.

There's no need to force yourself to meditate when you really don't feel up to the task, so it should always be considered as a non obligatory approach.

I've found it exhilarating to a certain point, being focused or relaxed doesn't require much effort for the majority, but being conscious in the sub-conscience of emotions and thought processing can have various moments too.

When a beginner starts having successful attempts, pay close attention to your ego, of course we do like to congratulate ourselves when meditation goes according to plan, try not to become to self-absorbed by your pride which may have some positive/negative emotional attributes.

I've experienced mental and spiritual awareness of being somewhat a natural for having sixth sense visions or third eye experiences while nature is at work in the physical realm, whereby it doesn't necessarily apply to being in a meditative state of mind.
I used to receive some spectacular insights of not only my surroundings, but also other peoples. Although it no longer happens as often as it once did many many moons ago.

Take care & have fun!

I wish I could tell you how my first meditation was, however I have been meditating for so many years, I have no real recollection what it was like my first time...

I would suggest meditation for one minute and then slowly moving up minute by minute the more practice you get. This was how I started as I was not even a teenager when I began meditating...

I remember my first and best experience I had with transcendental meditation (TM) like it was yesterday. It is almost 20 years ago and it was in the first meditation week, and I was still under the guidance of a teacher. I experienced non-existence, or I was (one with) the universe or cosmos for one time or one moment only and I’m still a little sad for never experiencing that anymore.

After a year I started experiencing some (annoying) clairvoyance and because it felt unethical to know peoples private matters, I meditated less intense to stop it, and now I'm more intuitive then the average I guess.

I'm curious about others best meditation experience.
