The Miracle Worker: Working With "Natural Guilt"

(Part 1)

Much more occurs within the scope of kindness and honesty than you are presently aware. Kindness itself is a miracle that in turn works manifest miracles in the world. You have positively affected many, many situations in ways that have prevented many "negative" outcomes in your life, as well as helped to positively alter events in the lives of those around you and in the universe.

Your spiritual openness is much more effective and powerful than you may suspect. You are no less Magnificent than any other being!

Of course, in order to really hear such fluffy messages such as this without grimacing, your current focus must at least be in the vicinity of already feeling okay with yourself. Most humans (even most "spiritual folk") indeed tend to want to move from feeling upset over something to feeling good about themselves, while avoiding the grand opportunity to really let themselves fully FEEL the natural guilt that always arises from the Inner Self after missing the mark of making positive decisions. This "natural guilt," which the entity Seth has spoken of through Jane Roberts, is much different in quality than the artificial guilt that the human ego imposes on the personality.

Working With Natural Guilt

Before we go any further, let us have clarification as to what is meant here by the term "natural guilt." Understand that Source Itself actually knows no guilt of any kind. In order for the human to grow spiritually and make higher choices, it is necessary that there be a form of inner guidance that would immediately let the human know when he/she were thinking harmful thoughts. This inner guidance takes the form of an emotion which is the precursor to feeling remorse or regret. This emotion, which Seth has labeled natural guilt, is not intended to spur you to hate yourself or in any way cause you to feel that you are unworthy of God's Unconditional Love. By contrast, its purpose is to help you face the "demons" of your own mind's making, not frighten you to fear any karmic repercussions of making errors. Artificial guilt is that sense of guilt that you are most familiar with, because it feels so HEAVY and dense in your body and in your energy field. It is a construct of the lower ego that is intended to create a sense of alienation and separation from Source. Natural guilt is felt as more subtle and ethereal, whereas artificial guilt is layered with judgmental beliefs. These two aspects have been symbolized in your human world as the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other, each whispering advice into your ears in hopes of guiding you in its direction. The angel represents the Holy Spirit, your Higher Self, while the devil represents the ego, or what some term the "lower ego." (However, in the case of the ego, it tends not to be so much like a "whispering snake in a garden," but rather a loud, inner voice of judgment and fear. )

The purpose of this illustration of these two different types of guilt is not to complicate the matter, but to clarify the vast difference between the initial response of inner guidance (natural guilt), which often goes unnoticed, and the negative, highly-distorted feeling of guilt that the fearful ego imposes. Again, let it be understood that Source knows no guilt, but only Perfect Love, in Its Unmanifested State. It is ONLY in manifestation, in creation, that duality, polarity and multidimensionality can be possible, and indeed seem to exist, because of the ability of consciousness to see contrast. Unconditional Love, by definition, means there is no constrast in It; there are no conditions, no differences, no types, no higher, no lower, and no unworthiness of It. It simply IS. Source is ALWAYS Source, and is never really "out of Itself," or "out of the Vortex" in Abrahamic terminology; only in the illusion, in the perceptual subjective/objective game of creation, are there "ins" and "outs," or periods of "alignment" and "misalignment."

"Natural guilt" is ultimately an oxymoron, for guilt is not "natural" to That Which You Really Are, the concept being helpful only very temporarily for teaching purposes as a way of carefully differentiating between two different vibrational impulses that humans feel. Through gaining clarity about these principles, you are already working with natural guilt in a harmonious way. The way is simple but not always "easy" in practice; it requires AWARENESS of your deep, inner feelings; a worthwhile practice. This is Self-awareness, and an aspect of it is Self-appreciation, where you continually allow yourself to expand your sense of love and joy. Become aware of the Silent Witness, the Silent Observer; your Higher/Inner Self or Inner Being, if you will, and practice living in each moment as this Being. After all, It is really already You! Practice simply becoming aware of your emotions without feeling a panic to "do something about it." This is an ancient, advanced teaching that all spiritual aspirants and adepts must eventually master, and in truth it is so simple and easy that the ego is vibrationally too dense to "get it" and make any sense of it. However, with higher guidance and many, many learning experiences, the personal ego can and does learn to ALIGN itself with its own Inner Self, which in turn is alignment with Source.

Learn to arrive at a place in your spiritual journey where you do not even make a big deal about being "in" or "out" of alignment! This is indeed an advanced metaphysical teaching that even transcends the "law of attraction" teaching that so many are opening up to, day by day. For, a true spiritual master, so to speak, would not be so concerned over whether they are feeling a little bit misaligned or super-aligned with God. At some point in the spiritual journey, the "old soul" no longer gets his/her "knickers in a knot" over spiritual alignment, because such beings are normally very even-minded and balanced emotionally, you see, rarely experiencing the classic highs and lows that most people often have. You become a keen observer and appreciator of your natural creaturehood, which means that you come to deeply appreciate your divine "angelhood" as well.

Please practice remembering that you are already All-That-Is, and thus you already contain all that you seek. Enjoy this "paradox" of existence in which you are the Infinite Whole as well as Its "Infinite Parts." Learn to truly forgive yourself and others for whatever it is that happened in the dream-illusion of your world. We will cover many additional aspects and illustrative ideas for your appetite, so please wear your bib when devouring these concepts, if you so desire to do so...
