White Cat?
During a sleep paralysis episode there was an unfamiliar white cat laying on me, can anyone tell me what this means or what it was? Does anyone usually see animals near them when they have an OBE or astral project?

It's crazy this happened to you. I recently had an experience where I reached the vibratory state while I was inbetween being awake and asleep. I then tuned into the astral realm because I heard the loud train and popping noise and even though I was asleep with my eyes closed I could suddenly see my room. I spoke into this realm and something like a black cat attacked me. It just basically jumped at me. And I woke up. A few nights later I woke up to sleep paralysis instead of the vibrations. I actually have two cats but they were both at my parents house At the time. So I'm laying there on my side paralyzed but I can feel sometning walking acrossed my body. It was the same feeing as when my cat jumps on my bed and walks on me. I was laying there freaking out cause I knew the cats weren't there so I was like how the heck is there a cat on me.
I was actually petting it at this point and could feel it and it's tail. I was pretty scared and kept trying to turn on the light but I could only move my arm. So I prayed and it worked and I woke up. With no cat this time. It's weird we both had this during sleep paralysis.

My explanation is much more simple than spirit guides, totem animals, etc. When we astral project, OBE, dream, lucid dream, experience sleep paralysis, etc. we are in a completely different dimension. Just like this dimension, that dimension has beings that exist in it - beings of all forms. Including forms we know of and forms we do not know of. And yes animals exist in these realms as do beings that shapeshift into animals. A few weeks ago I was experiencing a short bout of sleep paralysis and felt something on the bed with me and felt it scratching itself, as well as hearing it's collar make a dinging noise like when a dog scratches itself with one of its back legs around the neck area. I was paralyzed so wasn't able to see what it was though and it was laying on the bed right near me. Personally I wouldn't take to heart that just because you saw a cat means it is your spirit guide, totem animal, or anything of that nature. If you're laying in bed in this dimension and see a cockroach does that mean it's your spirit guide? Nope. Not everything in this dimension is symbolic and the other dimensions are no different. Sometimes when you see a cat you're just seeing a cat, nothing more and nothing less. That rings true in both this dimension and the other dimensions that exist on Earth that we often experience in dreams and projections. There are other possibilities such as shapeshifting beings, manifestations, distortions, etc. but it's always logical to go with the most sensible explanation before jumping to the others.
