Sleep positioning..

I had a ld a while back quite easily, while falling asleep on my back, which I don't normally do. In reading up on it later I guess it was a "wild".

My biggest problem with repeating it is that lying on my back for long becomes unbearable, but it seems to be the only position that I can reach that state where I am awake but unconscious of my body. I reach that but still feel acutely uncomfortable after a bit. Not sure how to surpass that point. I don't really have a bad back so I have no idea why it's so difficult...

In Lucid Dreaming one is usually fully asleep. Typical dreaming does not start for a while (20-30 minutes) after falling asleep. Why do you want to be 'awake' at the start?

I can't lucid dream often, but when I have done, my body position on the bed asleep is irrelevant.
It's different for 'going out of body' or astral projection. For me the best position for that is flat on my back totally relaxed. I can often terminate a projection at the 'vibration stage' if I wish, by turning onto my side.

That's what I was trying to do (ap), actually, and how I came to reach that stage more easily on my back. I can't seem to get relaxed without falling right asleep any other way.

I used to lucid dream a lot lying in my stomach. So positioning is irrelevant as long as you're in the right state of mind to LD.

same here, I rarely am able to fall asleep in that position and when I do, I have a lucid dream.

Last time I had a lucid dream I was sleeping on my back, and my legs were in a strange position, one of my legs was bended with a foot laying flat on the mattress and my other leg was resting on the other (with my foot resting on the knee)
Kinda hard to explain and can't put a picture to show you I am a newbie!

My lucid dream was amazing by the way, as soon as I woke up in the dream, I tried to go away as far away as possible, like I always do, so I started flying in the sky, I almost reached space, there was so many beautiful colors.
