Post Strong release in Mooladhara Chakra region



Hi all,

This is my first post and I trying to seek some answers for the situation I am going through.

Background :

With the grace of god and my master and I have been fortunate enough to following spiritual path and practicing meditation from quite some time now ( ~ 10 yrs ). And I am quite punctual in my meditation practice from past 4-5 yrs.

Can't share all the details but the meditation practice which i follow emphasizes somewhat on chakra cleansing.

Over the period of time I have become more aware of our inner feelings, energies and emotions. From the past 1 and 1.5 yrs I became aware of this strong feeling of subconscious fear and pain around my mooladhara region and I could relate how that subconscious fear was affecting my day to day life.

So, I slowly started focusing and meditation more on this area in order to heal it. On weekdays i am able to do limited meditation ( max 1 - 1.5 hrs ) as I am working as a software engineer, therefore on weekends I was devoting more time in order heal this root cause of this subconscious feeling through the various tools which have been taught to us.

I wasn't really sure how overwhelming or strong this root cause was and continued with the meditation routine and over the period of time ( around 8-9 months or so ) things started coming on the surface and this is where I am starting to have a lot of trouble.

I know its good all those deep buried emotions are coming on the surface and i was faced other some other stuff / catharsis before but this time its very strong and now when I meditate even a little bit on that root cause or mooladhara region for that matter an overwhelming amount of pain and fear immediately starts to come on surface and it is strong that I am not able to focus on work and things properly. I can also relate to what that the root cause might have been ( possibly something from my some past life ) but I am really not worried what it was or what it is and just want want to get it out of my system / consciousness.

I already took 2 months from my work hoping that i would meditate hard ( 5-6 hrs daily ) and get rid of it all. But to be honest i was able to meditate hard only for 20-25 days and rest of the days i kept worrying whether i should quit my job or not. I keep on thinking that if do it

Basically, I am not able to balance / integrate it with my daily work life. Also, I am kinda workholic so sitting at home is really difficult for me.

I am hoping a lot of people might have gone through the similar phase and I am looking forward for any suggestions or guidance as how how they were able to cope up with their similar situation.

Namaste and welcome to the forums.

My immediate response to this would be; have you told your master what is happening? If you are following a procedure that has been recommended by him, maybe he will also help mitigate any unpleasant circumstances arising from the practice.

The Mooladhara is associated with a sense of stability, safety, environment and your place within society, so if all is okay with that and your basic needs for survival are being adequately met, the next thing I can suggest is that after 10 years meditating/doing the practice, it's time for your energies to become active from the dormant stage, but often, that cannot occur if one or more of the higher chakras are not in balance, or you are emotionally holding on/holding back something instead of letting it go and moving on. Search your heart for those answers and try not to focus on your root chakra too much beyond grounding yourself and bring your conscious awareness into the heart-space and give/show love, appreciation and gratitude for that divine grace.

Have you read about the other chakras and try to identify your current problems in them?

Maybe you are "overdoing" it by focusing so much on one place, and not letting your body guide you on what you need?
