The recently opened “Medicine Bags” thread inspired me to look if there were images of those on the net from our neck of the woods:
Found one example – a bag created before 1943:

In short, the bare bones of it:
In addition to Medicine Bags - “Medicine Pouches” (= the oldest known Eurasian ‘medicine-bag artefacts’) - containing hair, fur, iron, animal bones –bear and wolf teeth etc. were usually worn on the belt.

The belt itself would be a kind of a tube and would usually hold a snake and a wing of the Shamanic healer’s Animal Spirit helper.

The cap would usually hold a Raven or a Loon or a Squirrel.

The most recent old timer Shamanic healer – known to our family - passed away, I think in 1970s.
She was an apprentice of the famous “Loon” healer (nicknamed as such, because he traveled far and wide and had a Arctic Loon skin Medicine Bag - similar to the one pictured above).
