Pain in the back of neck

I'd definitely say you're being psychically attacked and really this thread should be stickied as an example of what can happen to people who (don't vet what they) channel.

It won't happen -- I was dealt with incredibly harshly by moderators last time I said anything about this.

I don't know if you can pick them up from other people. I suspect the dark side is much much much more organised than that and targets people either because they have easily stealable useful energy or because they're afraid of us.

They have limited powers though so you needn't be afraid of them.

I also haven't had nightmares in about 10 years so I don't know if they're implicated there.

So my recommendations are 1) that you stop talking to them and tell them to go away. 2) Work on the integrity of your aura. Use Reiki or some basic energy techiques. 3) Fix whatever issues you have as far as you can.

Having taken into account the previous posts I would begin to investigate. First start with the obvious like medications, physical problems and work my way towards psychic attack. By focusing on the lower energy forms it gives them power and too much credit. I won't even go there. After all what you focus on expands.

If you are well grounded and protected and have searched the "normal avenues" I would seek help from a energy healer with a good reputation. Or check with a local spiritualist church. They are very good at sorting these things out.

I am 22 years old, I take no medications or have any problems with my neck. Unless I sleep wrong in the car or in bed. But this happens quite suddenly while I am lying down. Noticed reading certain books does that too... But I read lots of books the same way and no pain in the back of my neck... It's around the base of my skull too...

Yes I experience this phenomena too.. I call it an 'anomaly' , a tightening / pain at the top of the neck / base of the skull. My situation with this began more than a decade ago and continues to this day, although the intensity now is greatly reduced. Please allow me to be very clear about this, this is NOT a psychic attack/greeting. My perception in my own case is that it is my own fear, or stress response to [what I call] additional energy(ies) coming through. It is a brick wall, you could say, that I myself, due to unconscious fear instantaneously put up and keep in place. Another way to look at or say this, is that 1000 watts are attempting to come through my 200 watt bulb and the stress [as I morph into a 1000 watt bulb] is being felt.

My tightening, or pain has been constant, rather than periodic. A few years ago as the intensity was rising beyond my handling skills I sought help. Since then I have been learning to relax this area, as well as to be conscious of what it is that is Spiritually happening; as I am primed to be a channel. This lead to me being conscious of my out of body experiences, which from this point now occurred steadily at the rate of 2-5x a week. For three years I focused in on this, consciously shifting into other reality systems, into other areas of consciousness.

It was only at the tail end of these three years that I realized what was behind my consciously shifting, in such great detail and so often. It was an Energy I simply refer to as 'a deeper layer of my being' merging with me. I learned at this point, that during my OBEs, on a frequency I had been barely aware of until now *[an aspect of my capacity is that I am able to to remain conscious on multiple frequencies simultaneously]* energies were learning to use my vocal chords. I am near fearless with OBEs, but I still remain uneasy being conscious while energies are speaking through me. The involuntary speaking takes some getting used to. I am currently on a sort of sabbatical. But I will be called to duty soon I am sure.

I have had involuntary speaking a few times, which is weird... But the most prevalent one is the nodding or shaking of my head when I ask questions, whether it's to myself or to my spirit guides... I don't know how reliable the answers are though...
