Divining Rods

I have just recently opened myself up to exploring my abilities as a sensitive (posibly more, but that part I don't yet know about). But a few years ago, to make my wife happy, I agreed to go on a ghost tour with her in the San Antonio River Walk. I have always asked her not to bring me to stuff like that or movies that involve real demons or real hauntings. But the tour itself is pretty harmless, since you just pay a lot of money to get led to the outside of the buildings and have a brief history described. My wife was disapointed, and I was extatic, because I didn't have to deal with what followed us home.

On the tour they give you a laser temperature gun, and a divining rod. My purpose for this thread is to ask about the divining rods. Because they weren't meant to work. It was supposed to be a gimick, the tour guide admitted that. But, everything that I focused my mind on, the rod moved to point at. If I asked it to point at a truck, it would point. If I passed the truck, it would swing to point at the next truck and the next truck. If I thought if my wife, it would point at her and swing around and follow her to the point that she actually got freaked out and ran in circles around me. When a cute girl showed up in my periphial vision. I put all of my will into thinking of my wife, only my wife, please point at my wife and save my marriage!

What are your oppinions on the divining rod? Especially one that wasn't meant to work.

Divining rods are still sometimes used around my are to find water. I have a pair of L rods that work well for me, they can show me where someone's aura extends out to and answer yes or no questions quite well.

This is so funny -not your thread sorry - and a little creepy because recently I've seen my experiences mirrored in this forum.

I had pretty much the same thing happen to me too, I even created a thread about it here and I looked very hard because I wanted you to have a look at it, but I couldn't find, disappeared probably.

Mine was at touristy kind of thing too, and in a nutshell the rods didn't work with anyone else but me...in my experience the gimmick of it was a way of outing a "witch", and I loved it because back then I was really into that stuff. Mine crossed, they were supposed to stay still and when they told me to go again they started spinning like crazy before doing an x again.

Who knows if in my case it was a trick or real, I wish I had asked the guide like you did.

Sorry I am not really contributing at all to your thread but an anecdote, but I really wanted to share it, I wish I had found that thread because I was hoping someone's response there could have been uselful to you.

A dowsing rod is a dowsing rod. If you can connect to it, work with it, it will work. And clearly you can.
I'd say experiment with it. There's nothing spooky about it, it's just your inner knowing, your intuition etc guiding you. Play with it. You can locate negative energies (like electricity from sockets, the meter, telly, microwave etc), ask to only show you the ones that are harmful to you.
I also use it to ask question, like you would a pendulum. I can't work well with a pendulum, dowsing rods are easier for me.
I've also used them in my garden. I.e. to ask if the spiral (simple labyrinth) is in the right place. They crossed.
I had doubt about where to put certain crystals etc. so I simply asked the rods to point me to where they should be. They turned, I walked into that direction and when I got at the exact right spot, they would cross.
I could also locate places with a more negative energy, spots that would i.e. suck energy away.
You can locate vortexes with it etc etc etc. It's not spooky, and as far as I'm concerned nothing to do with entities. A very handy tool. Sky's the limit...
I also ask things like "Should I do this that and the other"
First always do a check, like you do with a pendulum. So also make statements that are wrong. I.e. "I'm a man" and "I got two sons" etc etc. Just to get into the flow and make sure you're not controlling the rods.

Id be interested to know how they can give out a set of divining rods that 'arent meant to work?!?!' - A rod is a rod!! Doesnt matter if its a bent coathanger or a 'proper' one, they do the same thing... Evidence of dowsing does back thousands of years in artworks, etc and Im a firm believer that anything that is fake, untrue or a sham comes and goes very quickly, but the likes of diving, acupuncture and even tarot all go back hundereds and even thousands of years... Id say there the real deal....
