Frustration

Hello. New here, bit of a long post, I'll get straight into it.

Some people get clairvoyant information through meditation, some people outside of meditation.

I was trying it out with crosswords, just playing around with it (for well over a decade I've had thoughts that come true, sometimes. Most people on the planet would say it happens but with the accuracy and frequency, I always knew it was something. Never took an interest in anything spiritual, never meditated before then.)

I kept trying and trying to find the correct word for the crossword, and repeatedly failing. I'd get frustrated. One time, I'd gotten frustrated again after getting nowhere, and totally gave up out of exasperation. Having downed tools and just utterly given up, thinking of something else completely, remarkably, about a minute later, a word came into my head which turned out to be the exact word I needed. It was a moment of clarity. By trying a different approach, I'd done it.

I've been trying to do it again. Maybe the keyword is 'trying'. I try giving up again, waiting for the word to come, but it doesn't. I can't give up! It's so frustrating.

I hope that makes sense. Any tips? Thanks for reading.

You become frustrated over little things.

So would you if you'd been trying to figure this out for months after years of ignoring it.

You have an opportunity to learn about yourself, but might be distracted from what does happen by what doesn't.

Well obviously it does happen, proven when that word came into my head.

Hi sawyer, I think what Gem is referring to is the fact that in practices like this we have the opportunity to notice aspects of ourself, as in this case with the frustration coming to the fore. So by `becoming ` frustrated instead of recognising frustration and then moving through it and consequently developing, you are missing a lesson. It isn`t meant as a personal attack, we all have things to learn and expand into, and it comes from noticing our reactions, which you have here. The next stage is to work through the frustration, smile, offer it up and keep going.

Misinterpreted what she meant. How do you let go of it? Every time even before I try it, I dread it. I think "Here we go again" knowing I'll likely get nowhere. I get caught up in it all.

you get rid of it by understanding that `frustration` is nothing more than an attitude of the mind. If i said to you meditate for ten minutes and then I will give you a £100, your attitude would be different. You let go of it by simply thinking ok, that`s frustration. Smile inwardly and return your focus, to the focus of the meditation, and keep doing that every time it happens, even if it happens ten times in a minute.

With specific regard to crosswords, I am not sure if this is really clairvoyance. It is a common phenomenon with crosswords that we struggle to get the answer, we give up and do something else, but in the background the information is quietly percolating, and then when we revisit the crossword the answer suddenly comes to us. I find this happens often when I do The Times cryptic crossword.

Another common example is trying to remember the name of some person. We know that we know it, but we cannot think of it. Then an hour later while doing something completely different the person's name comes to us.

Maybe what this really illustrates is that our conscious thinking gets in the way of our intuition. This is the reason for getting frustrated. When we let go of conscious thought we become open to direct knowledge. This usually seems to happen when we give up trying to find the answer.

We find this in trying to understand Zen koans, such as "There is a goose in a bottle - is it trapped?". The intellect struggles to make sense of this and may get very frustrated. Eventually intellect gives up and intuition steps in, and the meaning becomes clear.

Peace.

You have a gift for clarity but it is a backward thing. It has to happen right the first time or you trip yourself up. You and other you get close to YES and then it blows up and your clarity is all screwy. I have some exercises that could help with that. We use your brain's attraction to the middle and the dual nature of numbers to fine tune your meditation experience.

It's not about the dream you see, it's about the dream you make
