I deliberately didn't mention Kardec..... I spent many, many hours with 'The Spirits' Book' when I first began to learn about the spirit. I also have 'The Medium's Book'.

I learned a great deal from the first book but it was actually about 'Spiritism' - the original request was for reading on 'Spiritualism'.

Moving on, I re-visited this book recently after another twenty years of learning about the spirit - and writing extensively about Spiritualism. I was struck by how dated the whole book feels.

Of course that doesn't mean the message it brings has changed, only that there are better ways, more modern ways, to get an introduction to Spiritualism.

Barbanell's 'This Is Spiritualism' is a great book! His "Spiritualism Today' isn't quite as good (it has something of the air to it of "the first book sold so well let's do a new one"), but still very good: especially about healing.

The Benson / Borgia 'World Unseen' series are also great reads.

Fontana's 'Life Beyond Death', which incorporates Spiritualist insights but is not entirely Spiritualist, is also excellent: though I think he goes overboard trying to box the afterlife realms into neat categories.

I just finished 'Spiritualist Manual' by the General Assembly of Spiritualists, and that is a good, short introduction to the subject.

You've done well with your selection and your application to the task of learning, Jim.

It would be a good selection for many enquirers.

10 Spiritual Steps to a Magical Life

I read this a week ago and am practicing it now. I personally think it is a great book. It is by Adrian Calabrese. I am personally Pagan but it will work for many religions.

I think you may be in the wrong forum here - this forum is about matters relevant to Spiritualism.
