Sorry I haven't read everything.

I agree with you though. It's the middle way. Work with what you are given. Flow naturally without resistance. In the case of attachment, attachment is fine when you are aware of it. It's when it begins to control you and cause suffering when it is not fine any longer. This goes for anything.

The goal isn't to attach to positive or negative thoughts.

The best way to look at it is like this:

Mindfulness meditation teaches one to observe the sensations in your body, your thoughts. For you to be the observer.

That is what the goal is in life also. Life should be no different than in meditation. Meditation just teachings us how to do it in silence first.

It is those thoughts that we have, good, bad or indifferent that is not us. We only get hurt by the ones that we attach to.

The goal is first to not even grasp at the beginning of a thought, it is just energy and to let it flow through like the wind. That is why they call the flow, the flow because it feels like wind. It is when something is said that hurts us that we come out of that flow and get lost in thoughts again.

Now it is work to get to that stage but it is possible.

Hope this helps,

Tom

Do you consider yourself separate from "this reality", as implied in your statement about "the most effective way to leave this reality" ?

I certainly understand this!
In the past couple of years, though, there has been a shift for me!

I actually no longer think about returning 'here' or not!
So, why did I start a thread on the subject then, right? Hahahah
Because of the posts I read around...

Where I'm at more than ever is simple trust....in other words:
"Hey, if I'm supposed to come back here
and be born blind...ok, whatever...it's the perfect place for my spirit, so...Cool.
'Here/ There/ wherever'...I'm still me...the important thing is
WHERE is my attention...and I can tell ya...it is on adoring my Father Creator, feeling the Divine Presence...period."
Everything else will fall into it's perfect place.

For me, that is the Primary Purpose of Existence.

I still exist within this reality, it is important for me to remain within this reality, for the time being. But I know as well that only a minute amount of my Self is within this reality.
Letting go or forgiveness by itself will not remove you from this reality, you have to match it with the right frequency. In the same way you can stay in this reality if you stay below the critical frequency.

Very nicely put, but....... there's still a bit of "my" and "me" in there !

This really struck me as spot on. Once you begin to let go/forgive/accept...your heart begins to open and deepen. Compassion and love can flow more deeply in all directions. And one's centre becomes more equinanimous.

Once you've felt the peace...and the love.. then you don't want to go back to any other way of being.

Peace & blessings,
7L

This may be different for you, but,
I personally don't have any issue with the words me and my and I...
I will always be 'me'...an individualized soul, a part of the Magnificent Godhead,
Lord Creator, Supreme Beloved Spirit that is within everything.
If my drop should one day merge back into the Ocean...I will
still have that Divine aspect of God that is 'me' and thus....'Him' manifested for His joy and wonderment.

Different approach, I know...I also don't have a huge issue with the ego
anymore, which
mystifies some friends.....
just that part that wants me to have a second and third piece of triple choco cake...
I don't like that part that tempts me.

Yes, one can talk about forgiveness and letting go, but unless one experienced it, it are just words.
