Just had first attunement... feeling so ill!!

Hello to all!

I just wanted to get a better understanding of how I am feeling after my first attunement 3 days ago.

I was feeling fine the first day, quite mentally exhausted the second day and sluggish. Today is my third day and WOW. These symptoms have really hit me. My teacher told me to expect it, but I cannot believe how strongly I am being affected.

I am physically exhausted, moving slow (I am usually quick to do everything), having a very hard time concentrating, no appetite, sore throat, nauseated, and on top of this I had a very emotional day! I felt the need to confront my boyfriend of 2 and a half years regarding issues that have bothered me for a while and experienced such a whirlwind of emotions. I did not realize how much I needed to speak with him until today.

Are all of these symptoms to be expected? I am sure that nothing is really considered "normal" as I'm sure everyone experiences their attunement differently. I am more interested in knowing why the symptoms have been so severe for me and how long I can expect this to last!!

I would also like to say that I felt very moved during the experience and found myself crying halfway through my attunement.

Whoa, I am so sorry!....just was thinking could the Reiki not
have done anything
and you are just sick?

I was nauseated after a cranial sacral...only to find out from a
really advanced person, the first guy screwed up...messed
with my Vagus nerve....did things in the wrong order.
Gee, just with his hands and energy!

I'm sorry...but can you get your polarities and energy fixed by a more advanced person?
I'm only a 2nd level Reiki person...but I have never heard of ...

Candice, congratulations on your Reiki 1 attunement. I went through a lot of emotions that seemed to burst out of me after my Reiki 1 course, so don't feel alone. I have talked with my Reiki master about how I did after Reiki 1, and she said it was to be expected since she and I knew I had a lot of raw emotions to deal with. I took Reiki 1 to specifically help myself.

Everyone is different, and is on their own spiritual path, so each person has a different reaction to reiki attunement. Some more than others. I suspect these issues have been brought to the surface from your attunement to a higher frequency. They are issues that are needing to be dealt with so you can begin your own self healing.

Make sure that you are doing self reiki treatments on yourself to help work through this cleansing. I did a 21 day self treatment after both reiki 1 and 2. I read about this from Penelope Quests reiki books.

Stay hydrated and nurture yourself during this time!

I have to agree with the previous poster, yes you do go thru some emotional healing yourself, however it doesn't last long.. believe me it is so worth the tempary discomfort.. hang in there...

Emotional releases are one thing. Those I understand.

I believe the physical may be attributed to the flu. I was very sick yesterday vomiting almost every hour and have heard of a few people who I work with who were experiencing the same symptoms.

However; I am still feeling a strong emotional unrest. I am going through a whirlwind feeling pulled in many directions.

Hi Candice,
Congrats on the Reiki attunement. I just became a Reiki master two weeks ago. When I first did Reiki one, I was told that there is a 21 day detox that the body goes through. My Reiki master did the attunement in two sessions for us so we will not get sick. Try to give yourself Reiki every day and see if that helps. Drink lots of water. I have sent you Reiki long distance Reiki. Let me know if that helps.

Take care of yourself Candice! Use Reiki to help yourself heal from the physical and any other issues you've got going on. The more we use Reiki, the stronger it becomes.

From what you said here, it's sound like you are going through what many would call a healing crisis... It can be a "normal" process as the body heals, lets go, and repairs itself. Drink plenty of water, relax, rest, and sleep, if you can, to help your body heal itself. Do some grounding to help stay balanced.
