What can be used in place of flowers for the moon rituals?

I really don't believe in taking from plants without their permission much less taking from them at all. I think if I give money to buy a flower that money will be used to cut three more flowers.

Why not use crystals?
Use a drawing or painting of flowers.
Find another ritual that doesn't require you to use flowers. Maybe create your own.
Use a plant in a pot.

I've never used flowers for my Full Moon Rituals. Are you talking about Wiccan rituals? I don't believer that it's necessary to use flowers but if you really want to a potted plant is a good idea as FairyCrystal mentioned.

I wish I could use a potted plant for the corresponding rituals which would be new moon, full moon, and waning moon but I don't have a window with enough light. Crystals sound like a good idea, I just know bringing flowers to a ritual connects me to the goddess a lot more.

Hi mooncat, not sure if it you might find it a good idea, but why not try planting flowers as part of the ritual instead? As long as you can find space to transplant it later when it sprouts, you could say the strength of the spell might grow together with it :)
In terms of using it as an offering youre also offering a new live plant back to the earth which you wont have to dispose of after the ritual.

Otherwise, how about fruits instead? Apples and pomegranate for example hold alot of symbolic meaning. And depending on your believes can be eaten, left out for birds n critters, or just buried/burnt/thrown in a river etc. Either way a fruit or two hardly harms the parent tree :)

I plant acorns and sow wild flower seeds in the river valleys of the Northern Dales - been doing this for over a decade. OK, I will not see the results of the acorns in this life but that is of no consequence. Take actions in your rituals which have long-term consequences !
