A FEW MOMENTS OF BLISS

BIRDS FLEW ACROSS THE VELVET SKINNED MOUNTAINS,
AND THE MOUNTAINS LOOKED DARK AND FROZEN.
AFTER THE RAIN THAT POURED DOWN THE HARMLESS RACKS,
REJUVENATING THE ENTIRE EARTH..
THE FRESH SOUND OF THE RAIN FILLED THE AMBIANCE,
BRINGING EVERY HOME A CHEERFUL SMILE.
CLOUDS GREW DARKER,
SOUND OF BIRDS CHIRRUPING,
WHAT WERE THEY SAYING?
IF ONLY I COULD UNDERSTAND..
COLDNESS WRAPPED ITS ARMS AROUND THE CITY,
AND I SHUDDER WITH HAPPINESS..
THE NATURE LOOKED LIKE DANCING,
STEPPING TO THE RHYTHM OF THE DOWNPOUR..
EVERYTHING SEEMED PEACEFUL,
A FEW MOMENTS OF BLISS..
IT WON'T BE LONG ENOUGH,
UNTIL EVERYTHING TURNS BACK TO NORMAL AGAIN,
WHEN THE STREETS LIGHTS WOULD GO ON
IGNORING THE SERENITY OF THE MOONLIGHT
THAT WOULD MAKE EVERYTHING GLOW,
AND THE NOISES OF THE TRAFFIC HOVERING.
ALL THE RAMPAGE AND TOUGHNESS.
SO I CONTEMPLATE ON THESE MOMENTS OF BLISS,
WHILE IT LASTS AND SLOWLY GROWS INTO HOLLOWNESS...

Sruthy, this is a very beautiful poem, my friend!!! I love the contrast between dark and light, and also how you said, "and I shudder with happiness." You have a very nice way of using descriptions that are traditionally used to convey an uncomfortable feeling, and turn them around to describe something joyous and beautiful. Very well done. You are very talented.
