Asprin.. a pondering

I know Asprin isn't directly a natural remedy but where the drug comes from is natural as it can be found in the bark of willow trees.

They are saying on the radio now that they are finding even more uses for Asprin and it made me wonder about whether there is a deeper reason why this drug is so amazing.

Willow, the tree, is amazing. I have spent may hours in the presence of a willow tree and found it to be utterly healing and soothing on an emotional level. I would rock up at it's base in utter despair, not knowing how to carry on, and after time sobbing, sharing and listening I would walk away feeling more able to deal with what life was throwing at me.

Also, the Bach Flower remedy Willow is for self pity, for wallowing in our despair and sorrows.

Some believe that physical illness is directly connected to our mental and emotional state..... is it possible that Asprin is carrying the energy of the willow tree in a form that can be accessed by people that may not be able to access the energy of the tree spirit directly?

Maybe my ponderings are a bit too off the wall for some, but I would be interested to hear if anyone else has had experience of the willow tree and it's healing abilities....

Until it was destroyed last year in a storm, our willow tree used to be the first sign of spring for us. When it began to green up we knew spring wasn't far away. And Pussy Willows are a very popular spring symbol.
That is an interesting theory. A tree known for healing the bodies pain very well might heal emotional pain. I wish we still had our tree to test that on. It could also be that you and the tree are a good match for each other.

I heard yesterday about asperin and cancer. With the greater use of other painkillers have humans opened themselves up more to the disease? One thing to remember is that most asperin today is lab created. Willowbark tea is extremely bitter and hard to swallow. Also, the amount of salycilic (sp?) acid varied from tree to tree, making it hard to get the perfect dosage down right. I recommend buying the tea already measured out into doses and see if you find a difference between the tea and the pills. I think I will try this myself (Yuck) just to see for myself. I'm gonna need a BIG jar of honey.
