@Op, i was having, as well, some thoughts about adam and eve.
The Bible is full of symbols. So the symbols have to be understood first, so you can understand everything else.
A Symbol stands for something else. The bible uses symbols because in this way it is easy for everyone to get to the "MEANING" even for those who speak different language.
The first symbol is a Word. Obviously the bible begins with the beginning ?! uh
It states: "At the beginning there was a word, and the word was with God, and the word was God".
A little bit of thinking is needed to decipher what this symbol means:
Humans use words to communicate with each other. For this they have Mouths.
But before a human can utter a word, he need to "THINK".
Therefore, a symbol for thought is Word.
If you look at the statement "At the beginning, there was a word ...", you will notice that there is no difference between God and his being as Thought.
The Bible proceeds then with separating The Darkness from the Light.
What does Light and Darkness mean ?
Light symbolizes the waking state (for humans), and Darkness the sleeping state.
But the Question should be asked, what is Light and Darkness combined with thoughts ?
Obviously Light should be associated with Love, Happiness, Life, Justice etc etc
while darkness represents fear, hate, grief, loss, jeallosity etc etc etc.
If Adam was made in the image of God, then it should be understood that he is, as well, made out of and as a Thought.
Further should be noted that if God is Light, then Adam was created in its likeness as a Light being (as described a bit above).
Then the Bible states that adam fell asleep, and had a dream in which he experienced nightmares, and in which the eve was 'born'.
For Human understanding, if Adam is male, and the Bible reffers to God as Fatherly figure, this indicates the sameness of the creation.
Eve, then, was created in the mind of adam, but being described as "female" symbolises that her creation was not the same (differen, not in the image) as God created Adam.
The Bible explicitly states that regardless of this fact in differences, both adam and eve were in the Paradise. And even there is no indication that Adam has awaken.
The Snake has, as well, few symbols in itself.
The humans know that the snake has a Split tongue. And what would this symbolize in the terms of thoughts ?
Right: saying something what means something else - or in other words a LIE.
The snake is pictured as spiraling up the tree. But what does this means in the terms of Thoughts ?
How about
circular reasoning ?
So the eve has eaten a fruit of so called forbidden tree.
But if eve is a Thought, how can a thought eat something ? Could it be that eve has learned something and convinced adam that this was true, even it it was a lie ?
They were naked as thoughts - which symbolize their pureness.
And how can Thoughts clothe themselves ?
It must be that they have started reproducing thoughts, which they have learned from the snake. So they entered time and opened their worldly/bodily eyes.
The above you can extract from the bible, and this is my interpretation:
Before earth, in paradise, God knew what they thought and could sort the true from the false, but in time (or better said in delay), they did not allowed God to do it (because they wanted to keep the thoughts for themselves - (started clothing themselves)), and so God, in their new experience, appeared to be cruel and angry.
But all they did is: Adam and Eve started communicating with themselves (circularity) instead with God (straight line).
