Many Buddhist seem to be poor but even the poor seem to be happy.

Please feel free to express your experiences with these people.

My wife's sister got married this week.

The dowry was $66,225 in US money.

The groom gave the bride 20 baht of 24K gold which is 294.2 grams of 24K gold.

The groom also gave to the groom jewelry which consisted of diamonds.

They both are about 20 years old.

In some Buddhist countries, a dowry is very important.

I once had to file a police report. When I got to the police substation, I noticed one young man was in one
of the jail cells. I asked what he was there for. He 'deflowered' a young woman and her
relatives had him arrested. He would be released after he paid the dowry.

In some Buddhist countries, 22K, 23K and 24K gold is hoarded.

If a person gets in a financial bind, the hoarded gold is used to relieve the financial burden.

I use to visit one home in a rural setting. In the home were two children about 13 and 14 years old. One boy and one girl.

Every day they would leave the home and go to the rain barrels. Using a dipper,
they would pour the rainwater over their head. They really enjoyed these showers.

Eventually I got nerve enough to try the water barrels.

Amazing!

My hair became extremely soft and manageable and my skin seemed more soft and pliable.

i grew up with well water. to this day im looking forward to that day again to have well water if it happens. my girlfriend and i go to whatever cool swimming hole we can find. soon as we got back from hanging out in some pristine water she went to take a shower. i asked her, "washing off the cleanest you been with city water, why?" she changed her mind. lol

we were up at yosemite last summer which i dont recommemd. as its a zoo and the other side of the sierras is not with beautiful lakes. but there was a carbonated mineral spring known for its healing properties. so i drank it. strong carbonation and full of minerals. went back four more times for a drink. there was something to it as i was talking and energized the whole way home. most everybody wouldn't drink it concerned over the water not being whatever it is they due to city water. my girlfriend was concerned. to this day she is kicking herself for not drinking it. she saw what it may have done for me. lol.
