Does anyone Know Kite Flying?

Namastey,

I ever wonder that how is Kite flying related to Makar Sankranti Festival?

Namaste.

I don't know much about this, but three things - as I was reading this, a story came on the local news about kite making workshops:

Secondly, it could have something to do with sending our prayers skyward and towards the Sun-God...ala Icarus.

Thirdly, kite flying is awesome! be sure to put some grated glass on the string so you can sever your friend's kites. :p

I must get back into this again. It's so much fun!

Yes, Making your own Kite and flying it is something very different. I came across this source, http://daily.bhaskar.com/news/JM-why...i-1751638.html they have mentioned that people fly kites so that they are exposed to Surya Dev (Lord Sun).
That's why I wonder that why is Surya Deva worshiped on this day.
