It feels the nature of partnership was love. One partner showed interest and that really conditioned serious expectations around the other person. One had higher standing and the other didn't. Circumstances lead to abandonment of one partner by another , one was left bruised , hurt and neglected seriously. Difference in class, energy , and circumstances not bringing two together lead to grief on 'X's part mostly I feel. There were unclear intentions and that is karma here.
The current karmic lessons incluce looking another eye to eye, fining a neutral ground with them. A deeper heart on this person's part feels guilty but they have not yet consciously realized it or expressed it yet. Mostly some attraction but also unresolved feelings and there is karma there for this person in regards to you, in this lifetime amidst different situations and change of scene. Understand gravity of the situation, marriage also comes up somehow, so holding positive expectations , positive feelings , slight feelings of love and understanding. Mostly reaching a neutral ground this time around.

Not exactly what I meant, I used "relationship" in a more general sense, in lack of a better I idea on how to phrase my question. "What was my role is X's life" probably would have been better... X and me definitely did not have a romantic relationship.

Weird enough, your reading still makes perfect sense and even gives me that slightly creepy feel of... not sure how to call it. As this does not belong here, I might explain it a bit in a PM if you are interested.

Well this reading was not focused on X and you having a romantic partnership at present. Like I said change of scene and circumstances. It is okay to have different relationships with people in different lifetimes. Just a suggestion :)

[I'm a little late to this, as I've been away for a few days.]
It's rather telling that when I met my current cat [whose name is Boo, by the way], at the pet store, she came right up to me to say hi, and meowed and meowed as if saying 'where have you been all this time?'
She likes sitting/lying on me as if to make sure I don't go anywhere without her knowing.

I sense that there was great difficulty involved in those patterns, rather like actually climbing a mountain. Building on the mountain metaphor, I feel that you have 'climbed' out of those patterns, despite the danger/risk of falling all the way down again.
