I started a few months ago Barre Pilates which is a mixture of ballet and Pilates that my Pilates Tutor started up. I have to say I really love it, and she is starting up the new class in January which I am really looking forward to it starting back up again as I have missed her classes due to not enough numbers attending on certain nights.
I have found along with doing this class and my Pilates classes it is a bit more cardio work, and brilliant on strengthening the core muscles, toning the hips, legs and stomach.
Which is really what I need due to back issues, I had about 3 relapses with a bulging disc (same one) which was affecting my piriformis nerve and sciatic nerve, and made me bed bound, housebound and in extreme pain for months on end, but Since I have religiously kept up with the exercises from my classes I attend and from the exercise given my the Physio- therapy team it has helped me recover and push the disc back into place and in the same extent strengthen up weak muscle groups.
Has anyone tried Barre Pilates?, I would love to hear.
