About OPs question regarding reality...which reality? Of the physical, or of consciousness? After a NDE I find that what we call 'reality' (the physical world/universe) isn't the reality. That place where pure consciousness thrives is the reality. My take, anyway.

I get what you are saying, but do you think that it would ever be possible to combine pure enough consciousness with physical reality in this human form to make this physical world also seem like reality to you?

"Reality is subjective." ~ The Necromancer
that's my understanding as well.
spiritual experiences are as real as any others;
physical experiences are as real as any others.
reality is a subjective experience.

you are welcome.
i had thought my contribution had served to kill the thread!
i was actually interested in discussing the ideas of that link;
to see how they addressed the OP; to see how observably
valid they appear to those of us here.

Reality. Pause....reality.

Well, absolutely nothing you see with your eyes open is real;
and that's a fact.
Absolutely nothing is what it seems...unless you are a quantum
physicist and it all seems like exactly what it is...unreal...not
as it appears!
Ha! ....Reality...yeah, right.

MARDAV70...right on!

I find that half of the fun is in the finding. Once all has been found, the only thing to do is begin the game again.

oh gee, after all the pieces are discovered you can finally finish the puzzle.
after that, who knows? the next thing to do might spring to mind after
seeing what that completed project looks like. is it a spaceship?

The great thing about the game is that there are an infinite number of ways to play it.

Religion prevents people from experiencing reality, that's my take on it. It offers up a soothing fairy tale wherein powerful unseen forces battle for the good of all, or something like that. You have your positive forces and your negative forces. Doesn't matter what the faith, they all seem to say the same thing, and it keeps us from understanding what is what. Except perhaps some of the Buddhist practices (not religions). No pesky deity to argue about, no pointless worrying about how we got here or where we're going (we're here, that's all that matters), just a focus on the here and now, which is all that exists anyway, as the past is gone and the future not yet here.

When we get ourselves out of the way, when our ego isn't running the show, then we are in a position to experience reality. It's good to remember the difference between relative reality and ultimate reality too. If reality makes sense, or if it doesn't make sense, then we are funneling it through our likes and our dislikes and it's not reality anyway at that point. Reality just is.
