The only thing scarier than losing your mind is everyone else believing you’ve lost it.

Phil Hickey masterfully debunking psychiatry's so-called 'biological evidence'
PhD psychologist Phil Hickey is back with another analysis of psychiatry's fundamentally flawed assumptions...
Many MindFreedom members would be aware of Phil Hickey, owner and author of leading psychiatry critique blog 'Behaviorism and Mental Health'. For several years now he has been doing yeoman's work calmly and systematically debunking psychiatry's many spurious assertions. Recently Dr. Hickey published another masterful take-down of psychiatry's quackery, this time he turns his sights on psychiatry's spurious 'evidence' of alleged biological causation for the problematic states of mind, beliefs, thoughts and behaviors that get called 'mental illness'...

The Mind-Expanding Ideas of Andy Clark
https://www.madinamerica.com/2018/04...as-andy-clark/
"In this piece for The New Yorker, Larissa MacFarquhar profiles the philosopher and cognitive scientist Andy Clark, whose work argues that our minds are inseparable from our bodies and the world around us. Clark emphasizes the interconnectedness between our minds and other minds, as well as the tools we use to help us think, such as language and smartphones."

Legacy of R.D. Laing | Michael Guy Thompson | Madness Radio
http://www.madnessradio.net/legacy-o...madness-radio/
"Is psychosis a journey and a breakthrough to somewhere more authentic? Should unhappy people be made to adjust to a mad society? Scottish psychiatrist R.D. Laing was a fierce critic of the mental health system, and saw madness as a rational adaptation to irrational family and social constraints. Laing’s compelling prose, acute intellect, and spiritual insight made a huge cultural impact worldwide, shaping the psychiatric survivor movement and calling to overturn social conventions during the U.S. war in Vietnam and the revolutionary 1960s. How are Laing’s provocative insights about politics and culture still relevant today?
Michael Guy Thompson, a psychoanalyst and founder of the Gnosis Retreat Center, worked with R.D. Laing in London and has created hospital alternative sanctuaries for people struggling with experiences called psychosis. He directs the annual R.D. Laing in the 21st Century Symposium at Esalen Institute. www.gnosisretreatcenter.org www.michaelguythompson.com

'Cradle' of schizophrenia in brain found
First step towards better targeted pharmacological therapies
(ANSA) - Rome, April 17 - Italian scientists say they have found the 'cradle' of schizophrenia inside brain, that is the areas involved in the distortion of perceptions that are typical of the illness. The discovery was made by experts from the Centre for Neuroscience and Cognitive Systems (CNCS) of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Rovereto and a paper on it has been published by Neuroimage: Clinica.
