I actually really understand that. I'm very protective of my cards. I tell a person to relax, take a deep breath and let it out, and release any negativity they feel with that breath. Then they shuffle with question in mind, and I usually cut the deck, and put my hand on them before I do a reading. And after readings, I cleanse them.

I am 50% the same.

Except for me it's because I'm impatient and get frustrated when someone else draws the cards, because they usually try to do it in a very meaningful manner... which means way slower than I'm used to. I riffle through and select cards as if I'm getting a bonus for however many seconds I save on the clock (for entertainment's sake I just timed myself doing a shuffle/spreadout/selection of 4 cards, and it's 15.82 seconds on the clock... including thinking the question clearly in my head haha)

@lolkat - whatever works for you is whatever works for you. One of my favourite go-to professional readers barely seems to shuffle at all, and simply selects whichever card/s is on the top of the deck (face down) and works her way down depending on how many card positions are required. Her readings are brilliant!

Neat, tealily. I guess I have a hard time with confidence in reading and with trusting that I'll draw what I'm meant to. Gotta work on that. Lol
