People who attempt to debunk psychics/ mediums

I've been watching a couple of videos on youtube about James randi and his million dollar challenge, and such and i'm wondering why some psychics cannot perform their task? Now after watching a few videos, it seems like hes a very closed minded individual who seems to want to jump the fence whenever a medium declines his challenge. He has exposed some a frauds (which is a good thing since many people base their lives on their readings), but does it all have to do with energy? Even while watching him I felt uncomfortable. I personally am a skeptic of people who claim to be mediums, but I have personally been amazed by some who gave me a reading with hardly any contact. What do you think about people trying to debunk psychics, is it a fruitless battle???

It is a fruitless battle. As soon as you disrespect the points of view of another you become unbalanced yourself.

That is also why all battling is fruitless. The lack of kindness puts you in a place of darkness yourself. Fear will do its job on you and friends will become enemies.

I hope these thoughts bring some light to your question.

As far as I know the James Randi challenge consists of doing scientific tests where you get exactly the same results 100 times. That means a medium would have to do 100 sittings with exactly the same results. If the results are not the same then its not proven and as such fraudulent.

I know of many mediums, with some being a good 90% accuracy rate, but I have yet to find one with 100% accuracy in every reading for 100 readings.

The challenge is virtually impossible.

Those in the community I frequent wouldnt touch him with a barge pole, plus a lot of us would feel its putting too big a financial gain for our mediumship.

There are many mediums that are scientifically tested - Gordon Smith, Glyn Edwards to be but a few. The Society of Psychic Research does regularly test mediums thoroughly, as well as Edinburgh and Cambridge Universities.

I agree. From what I have heard his tests are impossible. Im a Medium and the fact that we use the energy of spirit to blend with us in itself means this is not a precise science. Therefore, his test will always be impossible for us to pass. I also dont like the energy from him either.

People need to understand how psychic/mediumship/paranormal, etc works in the first place in order to create some sort of "test" which he clearly doesnt. I also dont like the language he uses on his site - as if all of us are frauds or trying to make a fortune! Frankly I do lots and lots of free readings and constantly give free advice. If I was a fraud, why would I bother????

I also think, Angel93, being a skeptic is very healthy. I have been very skeptical during readings myself but do give people the chance of course. Im skeptical of humans sometimes, but never spirit! lol

My experience has been that spirit will lead you to a place you need to be. However when the path to that set of circumstances would not be logically acceptable to your conscious awareness, the love for you from spirit will find a way.

I have an experience with spiritual deception that you may find insightful.

When you said, "but never spirit" I received an inclination to advise you of this.

BTW never say "never". It seems to attract the very thing you wish to avoid.

John, I take your point entirely and should have chosen my words more carefully there I guess! What I meant was, I always trust the information spirit gives to me during a reading to pass on to a sitter. I also always trust my higher self with general life guidance and am very in tune with my own intuition. I merely meant really that I am skeptical initially when receiving a reading from somebody I dont know as not all humans operate on the love level that spirit tends to. Hope that makes sense!

Yes it does.

In my view, trusting the higher self is an act of unconditional love. One that is required if we are to become involved in co-creation.

Thanks,
John

Total agree John. Ive been working on my self love for around a year now and now connect with Universal mind during meditation (and sometimes during readings - depending what the person requires) and am finding this amazing. Sorry have gone off topic there a bit but felt I needed to reply.

Debunking The Debunker

Interesting article, ‘The Myth of the Million Dollar Challenge’ about Randi’s offer from a non-Randi POV.

More on how Randi's challenge isn't an honest one.

Randi is evasive when his challenge is taken about homeopathy effectiveness.
