black dog-help?

i've been having dreams about a black dog. in my dreams i've seen it in my basement and it's always a bigger dog. when i'm in the passenger seat i see it running on the side of the road next to my car and i can look right at it, like it's not in the corner of my eye. i've read about it in other places and it said that it's associated with the devil and that it's usually a bigger dog with glowing eyes. i didn't really describe it much and my little sister said that she's seen it too. does anybody else see the same thing?

...yours didn't have the glowing eyes, though, right?
This concerns me because black cats & dogs get kidnapped at Halloween time and tortured and killed and sacrificed due to this erroneous association with evil or satan and all that.
Are there any specific feelings that come up when you 'see' this dog?

Doesn't sound evil of vicious to me...maybe a lost dog soul missing his family. Is this a new home you are in, did you just move in?

i've never gotten a look at it's eyes. i don't remember if i saw it's eyes in the dream or not. but i've had the dream more than once. it was in my basement and it wasn't happy. i've lived in this house for about 13 years.

Does the dog growl or anything like that, bare its teeth? Are you normally afraid of dogs at all?

it was growling when i saw it in my dream. like it didn't want anyone to go in the basement and would hurt anyone that went down there. the dream is always the same. i have 3 dogs myself and am not afraid of them

no i've lived here almost 13 years.

i have another thing that's not about the black dog. the black dog scares me more than the other thing though.

I see it is a dream...I missed that sorry...it sounds like it could be a representation of fear...are you afraid of dogs? What dog mean to you is going to mean a lot...basement/black color is usually associated with scary hidden things and the fact it is chasing you seems to speak to maybe fears catching up with you or trying to surface...
