Counting my blessings

Counting my blessings

Each night
before I go to sleep
I count my blessings
instead of sheep.

I used to count sheep,
but they wouldn't stop dancing
it was so difficult to sleep
with all that toe tapping.

Now it is different,
I hear spirit rapping
and so I'm still awake
could it be, spirit is tap dancing ?

Counting my blessings
I always count twice,
once for myself and
once for the mice,
as they only squeek
and it sounds more like " eek ! "

Counting my blessings
I also thank God for you,
and hope that He blesses you
in all that you do.

I give thanks to God and the angels too
for all that they are , all that they do
and for all their many blessings too!

I give thanks for the stars
and moon shining bright
and for all the many wondrous
heavenly delights.

I give thanks for my friends
for without them
where would I be ?
Lost and alone
wandering thru eternity.

I give thanks for my health
and my spiritual wealth,

I give thanks for the chances I'm given,
and the times I am forgiven

I give thanks for the times
that the window is closed
but then, there is opportunity
knocking at my door.

And I must not forget the sheep
for without their tap dancing
and spirit's wall rapping
all keeping time to the music,
who can sleep ?
