I feel church is too dogmatic, either believe or go to hell, something I'm not sure I believe. I find it hard to believe that Christianity is the only truth, I mean did Jesus really say that? When he said he was the way the truth and the life, was he talking about him as a person or his actions? Hell? do people really go there if they do not accept Jesus as there Lord and Savior? I feel it is wrong for people to say that others are going to go to hell for something they do not believe in, is belief even a choice?
In my humble opinion.
A religion, like Christianity, is what people do about a belief of what they think truth is. It is not a truth. It may follow certain truths, but in itself is not a truth.

Jesus may have basically said that he was the true way to be (life). He showed others how to be a true human being, a person of truth. God is Truth, to be sons of God requires us to be true in all our thoughts and actions.

If we are not true then were are deceptive. A life of deception is a life of fear - hell.

A belief is an agreement to trust something to be true. We do have a choice on what we believe, or how else can we change our mind about something we thought was true but found it deceptive.

A common problem I would say. The 'rub' of tradition encountering new thinking.

Your friends in the church, who I'm sure are good people, only have one rigid line of worship. The old 'our way is the way, the only way' and not accepting or wanting to open their minds to embrace other practices and thoughts.

What faith you follow is entirely your own affair, though I was wondering if a spiritualist church might suit you better? Christian at the roots, but with acceptance of the psychic & spiritual world, including spiritual healing.

It truly is a pity that within your Church and its parameters, there is no support of 'your'/'The Holy Spirit through you's' abilities to help others.
I have also met with a similar attitude when letting others know of the reality of life after death. There are those who say such knowledge will only come from demonic sources!
Oh dear.....I actually find that reaction so sad it brings tears to my eyes -literally. Those poor people who are led down such a Way of Fear!

Those give you no credit for your own natural Spiritual Discrimination. No matter what you say they will not listen. Discrimination is necessary, but why do they automatically assume you know nothing about it?
