Faith when you pray
Sometimes I struggle to pray when I am losing faith and I can't finish a prayer or get stuck for words.
It's like in 'It's a wonderful life,' when George Bailey prays and says he not a praying man usually. I pray to say thanks as well as for help, but there are times when I do it through blind faith. When something happens am I reading too much into it or did they listen and help?
I used to think they were helping, but now, with so much sadness around me, I'm no longer sure. Not only in my life but others too. On the other hand I have plenty who are enjoying life, so who gets to choose?
I struggle to pray, though can pray for others, but for myself, many I hear feel abandoned and I know how that feels.

I have no idea if this will help, but it sure does ME!
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God:
that if we ask anything according to his will*, he hears us.
And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask -
we know we have what we asked of him." - 1John 5:14-15
I love John.  And I love my Father...you must know deep in your mind so it
really gets to the unconscious mind, which is
our foundation, not the shifting sands of emotion and thoughts...
God adores you... beyond belief even....He wants
you to have everything your little heart desires like any doting loving Father.
You are the apple of His eye...learn to accept His love,
because He so wants to give it to you...don't block it with silly doubts...
how can we doubt the One that sustained galaxies...trust me,
He is listening to every thought in your little bitty head...I do not know this from any book either!
He is right there! (Right there, now.)
*Remember, His will is that He wants us happy,
content, abundant, healthy, fulfilled in every aspect of our lives.

When I pray I do it with the absolute conviction that my words are heard. As for being responded to.... hey, it is like writing a letter to the police. The right authority might receive it but the choice of acting on the information or not is theirs. And if they act it might not be in the way you suggested or have the result you hoped for. What matters is that YOU did the right thing. It is usually better to have more options to pursue, but when praying is the only one left I say go for it.

As I wrote this it came to me that my 'lesson' was to know and understand how it feels to lose faith and be abandoned.
You can only truly help those who feel this when you have experienced it yourself.

If god really has heart.. why wont he answer the prayer addressed in a natural way..
