almond, I understand why you feel the way you do about your father. He doesn't deserve the emotion you are investing in him, or the situation. Why waste your energy on this man? He was just a "sperm donor". Do a meditation. Call his spirit to you, thank him for the gift of life, and tell him that your emotional investment in him is over. Afterwards, when a thought about him surfaces, imagine him as a balloon filled with hot air, and let him float away. If "Balloon Dad" refuses to go, let the hot air out! It's okay if you enjoy watching him deflate. You have a lot of anger to defuse. I guarantee this will work - I have experience with this! Then, you need to build your own "family". I don't mean by having children, necessarily, but by surrounding yourself with loving friends. If our parents can't, or won't give us what we need, it is up to us as adults to get what we need emotionally from other people. The process I described is not a "spell" - it will affect nothing but your own emotions. Your indifferent father will continue unscathed on his "merry way", but you won't care - you will be "free"!
