ahhhh see there are different varieties ... the one i remember from the river is the Water Hyacinth, which was really quite fleshy ... and not forgetting the Hyacinth in 'Keeping up Appearances' she was a breed all of her own lol ...

This is for you Squatchy ... i remember you commenting on the Birds of Paradise in the background of a pic i took in my garden a while back ... this one reminds me of a scruffy old dog who has done his time lol ...

I love the scruffy dog - so descriptive!
Firstly, a camelia that was peeking out. The plant, whilst in fine fettle, is being strangled by a honeysuckle, so must get that sorted.
Secondly & thirdly, a blossom tree. I think it's pear but might be apple. Can't remember from last year.

Gorgeous Squatch! The Camellia is just beautiful ... one of my favourite flowers .. i used to get Camellias and Azaleas mixed up ...
The apple/pear blossoms on the tree are so sweet ... nice shots too! Spring for you over there hey ... I dont really know fruit trees unless they are laden lol I know some are ornamental and dont bear fruit ... we had an ornamental plum tree in the front yard which died unfortunately ...

This is a Ginger Plant in my garden that has been there for 4 yrs and has never flowered before this ... maybe the heavy rainfall had something to do with it flowering this year ... it has the most intoxicating fragrance ...nothing like ginger tho ...
