The last calamity before Armaggedon

In the revelation of St. John the Theologian there is a chapter to which the seven angels pour out the seven bowls of the Lord's wrath upon the deputy.

When deciphering this part came to the conclusion that the previous five angels
poured on the ground: pollution of rivers and the world's ocean, cancer, AIDS, radioactive contamination, drought.
And the sixth angel pours the cup of the Lord's wrath into the Euphrates River, which means the current oil crisis that broke out all over the world and crashed oil prices.
What soon will plunge the entire global economy into a state of deep crisis.

Hm...

Personally I think that when you look at the bigger picture, there have been such signs over and over again throughout history.
The Black Plague, Syphilis, Tuberculosis
Volcano eruptions, tsunamis, earthquakes since Ancient times
Corrupted governments and religious leaders all over time
How often has this been seen as a sign that the world is at end?
Yet humankind still exists.

I sometimes think that seeing the time one is living in as special in any way (era of changes, end of the world, what ever) is kinda thinking self-centered.

Maybe we DO live in an era of changes, in one of many, but I do not see why this should be signs that the end of the world is near.

But then, what do I know...

Maybe we DO live in an era of changes, in one of many, but I do not see why this should be signs that the end of the world is near.

But then, what do I know...

Indeed.

So, there is a difference today.
What is the difference? What do the ages of human history reveal to us, and in confirmation of the written prophesies?

The history of the Jews and Israel, for one, is a snapshot involving human nature, shared in the Bible.

We see alternating waves of peace and prosperity, with that of war and destruction.
Why?

Because in times of peace and prosperity, people become spoiled. Proud, arrogant, and rebelliant towards the Truth.
God is Truth.

Today, in the 21st century... the major difference is that thanks to technologies...
we are the, "global community".
The global, "neighborhood".

But human nature, the "fallen", inherent and evolved animal/mammal nature... remains the same.

Anyone recall the story of the "tower of babel" in Genesis? Why were the people confounded, and divided?
Because nothing that they aspire to do would be impossible to them.
Think about the various technologies undertaken and developed today. Humanity has the best intent, no?
But? We are betrayed... and by what?

Consider again human nature, and history.
Despots, corrupt regimes... and ego in human nature.
Which is related with the devil.
Which causes us to feel that this material and organic situation is the greater reality, when science itself tells us differently.
What does "the Book" describe to us regarding the seven deadly sins?
Greed for one, involving substance and, "mammon"?

I've seen the recent movie, "War Dogs". Have you?
Based on true story...
Last night, watched the now dated movie, "The Pelican Brief". Seen it?
Interesting, regarding certain current events.

Wow, Deja Vu.
(BTW, that's a movie too. 2006)

"The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, And the water dried up in it, that the way to the kings from the rising of the sun should be opened"

From the location we see that everything concentrates around oil. Now we do not feel any constraint due to a lack of oil, but what if the oil stops coming or oil prices fall dramatically? (Note: the book was written in 1998)
Until now, the problem of the oil crisis in the world has arisen twice.
OPEC (an organization of oil exporting countries) consisting of the countries of the Middle East in November 1974 stated that if the next, fourth war does not start in the Middle East, it will cut oil production and raise the export price by 4 times. This caused the first oil crisis. affected countries of oil exporters.
The second oil crisis occurred in 1979, the Iranian revolution became the trigger, the prices for oil sharply increased, which led the world economy into turmoil. This oil crisis made once again realize the fragility of the basis of all Western countries, which depend to a great extent on oil imports.

"From the sunrise, when viewed from the Middle East: America and many of its allies (NATO) are included. (" Desert Storm "that began in 1998, the capture of America by Iraq)

The next chapter brings us even closer to Armageddon.
From the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three spirits come forth, unclean like frogs, they go out to the kings of the whole universe to gather them to fight. And three spirits gathered them in a place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. army meeting in Armageddon.
(In 1995, because of the assassination of the Israeli Prime Minister, all the "Kings of the World" gather in that place for his funeral ..)

The one who came out of the mouth of the Dragon-the symbol of communism, the one who came out of the mouth of the beast-liberalism. And the false prophet? It may be an ideology that tempts people to "kill the infidel" .. and go to war for this.

The seventh angel poured his cup into the air: and from the temple of heaven from the throne a loud voice rang out, saying: "It is finished!"
"And there were lightnings, thunders and voices, and there was a great earthquake, which has never happened since people on earth" is a description of the terrible Armageddon, when humanity can perish.

The bible doesnt teach those things. You are making them up from false reasonings.
The fall of babylon the great will cause the tribulation.

Well, regarding the prophesies in Revelation, for one it is a threefold description of one certain period to occur on earth, using three different sets of symbolism.
You have the bowl judgements, for example, the woe judgements, and another. The trumpet judgements.
Symbolisms are explained in the text itself, or in other parts of the Bible.
The writer clearly shares who the dragon is in one of the three descriptions of the events.

The beast?
It is described as having a number of heads and crowns. Which are Countries, and leaderships.
It is a united humanity.

The false prophet? Most feel it is the last Pope, the religious leader described in one place as a lamb, with the horns of a goat.

With exceptions, most protestants believe it is a scenerio which is present after a pre tribulation rapture, or calling up of believers has occurred.
Common sense indicates that this occurs at the outset of some global catastrophe.

And Nit? You left out the mountain crashing into the waters, ( masses of people ), and turning the waters bitter. A star..?
Also called, "Wormwood"? And, causing the fish to die?
Here may be something both literal, and symbolic.
Research "stars" in the Bible.
They represent both angels and people alike.
The devil is called the star of the morning in the old testament. He fell, and affected humanity, in the world.
We see here how the Bible ignores the issue of time.
Which science also tells us is illusory, which is related with space.

So? What is, "the world"?

The world-- that Jesus taught to be no part of = Govts of mortal man=corrupt1Peter 2:19)--The result of rev 16= Daniel 2:44--Jesus will crush every govt out of existence and Gods kingdom rule will never end again.
The encyclopedias teach of the pagan practices off the table of demons( 1Cor 10:21) in some worlds celebrations. Easter and Christmas is included.
No slaughtering of one another-1John 3:10-12)
Much of Hollywood, music, video games under satans influences. They wonder why blood and gore don't bother some--its shoved down our childrens throats--It has gotten much worse since I was young-- It sure cannot be helping.
Satan influences has made this a reality in todays world= 2Timothy 3

you cant get specific with Rev if you want!
It's safer to dial back and generalise though

I think it predicts a spiritual apocalypse with physical manifestations described in the text in apocalyptic symbolism

And for you folks who say doom and gloom,
there can be doom and gloom outside, but joy inside
not seeing the doom and gloom outside is naïve, denial of reality. The prophecies say things go through apocalypses, never smooth transitions. We are in one
not seeing the joy inside is to be defeated
Satan will trick some Christians into fervour for the apocalyptic mindset, so that they loose their joy in Christ which is more important.
No matter what, joy and the peace of Christ cannot be let go of
