I have a physical mother, and no she's not free because her kids need her for like free babysitting and stuff, and I don't have kids, but still need other stuff... but I guess the tables turns when she gets really old... and I have no clue what a spiritual mother might be.

OK but what exactly do you consider a "free spiritual mother" to be? To be honest the term doesn't really make any sense to me - sorry

You asked "can I let my mother go free" - free from what? free from my love?

To me my spiritual mother is my patron deity, my Goddess

Okay - a free spiritual mother is very similar to a free spiritual Goddess.

My understanding is that people DEPEND upon their mothers. A free spiritual mother is free from other peoples dependence upon her.

On another but similar note; women in general are seldom free because men depend upon them so much. If you have a 'free' woman, it is not long before the queue starts forming for her attention.

Honza said that mothers have obligations and commitments - so do fathers - actually most people have obligations and commitments do they not?

You are right, but I was more towards the spiritual side, in that you do need a balance.
