I think my reason for living is to help other people, emotionally. I've always been driven to help people, I studied psychology, have volunteered for crisis lines, facilitated mental health support groups, planning on going back to university to study child and youth care. it's really the only thing I'm passionate about.

Ok...I realized today...I have no reason for living...then
I went to, "I have no will to live.''
And cracked up laughing...and kept saying it out loud..and laughed even more!
I have no will to live here.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

My (main) reason for living - to become free of the hold of this dimension, and then maybe come back out of compassion or maybe not.

My reason for living.
Such a great question...

I no longer think of 'living' as being in a human body.
But instead think of it on a higher scale, a longer scale...the scale of continual existence.

What is my reason for existing?
There have been so many lives, so many life's-between-life's.
I am here in a body because of that continuousness of consciousness.
And that eternal consciousness loves this whole crazy amazing ride and it's reason are far too numerous to list.

In this single life, this ego that is the main projection into the 3D, I am here to experience, evolve, spread love and healing, a wee little speck of Light.
And be a vessel for the Source Creator to experience it's creations through.
A window for God's eye.

Just want to thank you all here for your honesty, and the questioner for asking.

So much of the world would like to put on a mask that never questions why they live. If most people did I doubt they could carry on but it's worth asking I think.

I am in transition. I used to live for the animals I cared for personally and professionally and all they taught me but a shift in perspective made me see how much humans really suffer so much longer and deeper and they have so much less access to the unconditional love animals are more frequently granted. I crave to ease that somehow but I haven't figured out how yet.

For a time I lived to nurture one that really was destroyed and needed me but they are not so in need any longer and I feel very much im questioning why I exist in this incarnation. The purpose is missing.

I'm know I'm here to love but the world is so disconnected I feel somewhat unable to provide what it needs. I'm sure I will figure it out but I truly appreciate this conversation as it isn't something you can say in polite society without it sounding like a cry for help. :) which this isn't, it's self awareness. :)

I like your openness, confusion, perplexing and lostness and relate to you TheGlow. When the question was first asked I ran through so many things like you had mentioned, and adding in exploration, travel, friends, nature and to dance and express and to create....each 5 year segment had it's own reason for being alive. It's own passion and expression.
And then I saw the chain, how each thing was true in it's time and when its time had past it was no longer true. like beads on a necklace. It takes all the beads to make the necklace.
The Purpose doesn't seem single fold - but multi-fold and is wherever we put our Intention and focus it seems. A Chain of Reasons to be Alive.

No reason! A reason might create an end goal, and an end goal to an unknown and unknowable end can distract from the experience.

Feeling obligated. That I have no other choice. And also that I might experience sex...
