Had A Nightmare That I Was Having A Nightmare...

So I had a nightmare that I was having a sleep-paralysis episode in a dark room I didn't recognize, and a demon pretty much grabbed my hair and started hissing in my ear and then whispering gibberish as it crushed me down. It felt like my whole body was on fire, especially my ear and I was just praying to God to help me. I don't know how, but in the dream I got away and started running to a door up some steps and knocking on it and calling for my mom, but it wasn't her house. Then I woke up and my ear was still hot. Anybody else have dreams like that?

i've had dreams where particulars from reality have been incorporated into
the dream (like an alarm buzzing) which is similar to your hot ear experience.

Horace, yeah and I have bed bugs right now, so I was thinking maybe I got a bite on my ear and waited awhile but one never materialized.

Brucely, it was very terrifying. Made me unsure it was just a dream.

To add, now I had a dream about a demon raping me, so maybe I should get away from Spiritual Forums for awhile, but I like it around here. IDK...getting freaked out.

Some idea or person in your life may be trying to suppress and control you. Do you have anyone in your life like that? The dream suggests that it may be time to confront the issue because it is threatening you. Could be related to the words people say because the ear was involved. Think about how you respond when people say negative things to you. Do you feel hurt by them? Feel like it is a reflection of you? Most of what people say to us is not personal. We may take it personally but it is usually because of their own baggage they are mean to us so just see if there is any area or persons in your life that try to control and take advantage of you with words. It may be time to confront this issue and separate who you are from how others treat you.

Thanks, Michelle,

Yes, my mother is definitely like that. Talking to her often puts me in a bad mood and makes me doubt myself and most of the time I feel like she is just waiting for the chance to attack.

Also, I have a job that has no respect whatsoever for my time. I'm working six days a week with at most ten hours between shifts and have had no time to do the most miniscule things that have to be done outside work. Forget my hobbies.

Before last week, I was working seven days a week. Add to that on my days/times off my phone rings nonstop for people wanting me to cover their shifts.

My mother hassles me about finding another job but yet tells me I "can't quit this one", like she has any idea of my financial status. I finally snapped at her last week and told her "I'll decide that for myself" about quitting. I'm really thinking about it. I just changed cities, my COL is a lot lower than it was, and I don't want to lose the money but I don't know how much longer I can go on like this. I just started two months ago and am already burnt out.

Of course there is a manager there, ten years younger than me who is driving me up a wall. She's a manipulator and is one of those people who stirs people up just for the fun of it. She looks like a little witch, let alone acts like one. I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with her yet, but yes I've got some choices to make.

"I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with her yet"
it becomes much simpler if you adopt the strategy of dealing with everyone
in an identical manner ... lovingly. think about it: if you routinely interact
with just ten people per day, you'd need 10 distinct "postures". if there are
50 people with whom you occasionally have dealings (store clerks, etc),
you'll require 50 additional approaches. remembering each can become
difficult and taxing.

It does sound as though you have a lot of controlling people in your life. The thing to remember is that you don't have to respond to everyone the way they see fit. Start focusing on what you see fit for yourself, even if that means telling someone that you won't cover their shift if it gives you a much needed break. When we conform to everyone else and their wishes we lose our autonomy and feel like a puppet to life. Your mother and coworkers aside, your manager sounds like a really difficult person. Just try to remember that how they treat you is not a reflection of you as a person. They may play games as a way to feel more in control and more powerful over others but that just shows that they feel powerless themselves or they would not feel the need to manipulate others. Once you start to take back your power by deciding for yourself what is best for you then others won't be a threat to your well being and won't be able to push you around. So even though it may have felt wrong it was good you told your mother that you will decide for yourself. It's your life to live. It sounds like you are ready to live it for you. Once you do the threatening dreams will subside.

Pluto, no joke, the night i first responded to this thread i had a dream at a dark castle and some sort of micro radio was stuck inside my right ear and some dude was blathering insessantly. I awoke at 4am feeling something evil in the room and my ear bothering me. Had a few more dreams that night but they were normal.

Weird because were similar here (join date and posts) and weve certainly responded to a bunch of each others posts.

Wow more intense dream that I had. Especially the raping part. I don't know if this is still on Netflix but watch the nightmare. Its about sleep paralysis. Don't watch it alone or before bed tho lol
