Mainly religious people. I am told there is such a being. Mostly, like "the devil", its a term religious people use to mean any 'evil' being.

There are many demons that use that name at times. I have had conversations with the fallen angel one (I try not to use his name it just attracts his attention). I dont fear him but I dont trust him either. In the end he is just another aspect of god but he will hurt you if he can. Spiritual people tend to move past the fear of hell and without that he is just another trickster.

All we know is that we always need to be alert about "influences" of various kinds that seek to dissuade of from our path, regardless of whatever names one wants to give to said influences.
On this path it is well to be aware, but do not be fearful. It is also important to stay in the light yourself.
This, incidentally is why it is very unwholesome and sometimes dangerous to subject oneself to too many modern media influences.

We know that evil exists, we are observing it all the time.
So we created a label for it, and personified it. And out comes "the Devil".
And I think this is what happened overtime, within religious circles.
Spiritual people don't believe in persona/person of the Devil. But they are aware of the evil around us, in physical and spiritual planes.
Good exists. Evil exists. We exist. We all interact. We interact with the spiritual plane with our mind more than we observe. We are influenced by the good and the evil from the spiritual plane.
It's like when people themselves choose a King, place him over themselves and then have to fear the king and have to obey the king.
WE create evil and good inadvertently. And then they become our Kings. The King of the Light and the King of the Dark. Which one do you listen to? It's hard to explain, they are not persons, but for practical purposes they may as well be (it's the way our mind interacts with the spiritual plane).
Opposites exist. Evil exists because Good exists.
The desire to hate usually comes because someone hurt you. And hating usually lessens your self's pain. So when you hate, you actually are showing love to your self by lessening your pain.
So is this desire really evil? It's the desire to love self, to lessen your self's pain, is that really so evil?
But this desire to love self expresses itself as evil when we hate and kill (while trying to love self and lessen self's pain)
But isn't there a better way to love self and lessen your pain? Do we really have to resort to killing and hating?
Well, I am sure there IS a better way. A way which would make it good for all: lessen pain for self AND not cause pain to another.
But we did not find that way yet. We don't know how to do it. So we do the best we can, which turns out to be evil (but only because it causes pain to others and no one likes pain).
So, therefore, it's ignorance that causes evil. It's not knowing a better way that makes us choose bad ways.
Evil is a side effect of good. They have to exist together. And we just have to avoid expressing the good as evil (like loving self while hurting another)

HOW do we create evil?
Well, imagine it like this. A fire is burning. And it creates smoke.
Imagine that our actions and interactions are like a fire burning.
And these actions produce smoke (good and evil).
And this smoke exists in spiritual planes. So we keep making good and evil and keep sending it as smoke into spiritual planes.
But then our mind enters the spiritual plane and interacts with all that smoke (the black one and the white one and all the colors in between).
The more good we do, the less black smoke we will create and send into spiritual plane.

I agree with this, and I would like to take this opportunity to emphasis the words " It is also important to stay in the light yourself" ..and also to reduce or avoid...." too many modern media influences ".
Since avoiding modern media influences, I have found it easier to rise above, and in so doing, it is likely that the low frequency entities, and other low frequency effects do not ( I sincerely hope ) affect one as much, and maybe even not at all. : )

well to look at the replies, i would say most spiritual people do not. i do not.
it is when we learned about choices. some are good, and some are bad. that is part of the learning process. we learn from mistakes also.
we do not need the drama of turning the bad into the height of the devil or even evil. jut another brick in the wall.
even further, because there is always something more. my teachers once spoke of the duality. if we cannot handle duality how can we ever be expected to work with multiplicity.
