It is poignant that Mozart had to leave Earth so quickly at only 35! I always feel his energy was not quite 'of this world' anyway, so maybe his going home was a very good thing to happen.

There is some mystery surrounding his last illness and passing....some speculate that he may have been poisoned, but probably as a result of taking 'medicine' (possibly for syphilis?) However, one would think that if he had syphilis, surely his dear wife Constanza, would also have suffered the symptoms....but where is the record of that?

So sad....apparently she climbed into bed with his dead body, holding him close, hoping she would also be afflicted with the same thing which killed him, and be able to go with him.
He was supposed to have been a bit of a womaniser, so I always feel Constanza's love was truly unconditional. She loved him very much no matter what!

But a very interesting theory is that he could have been infested with a worm, caused by eating his favourite food! Pork. His last symptoms seem to tally with the symptoms noted in many cases from this worm infestation (swelling of the extremities, etc)
