Charging/Cleansing New Crystals

TesseLated, I would be careful of placing certain crystals/stones in the sunlight.
The sun may cause some to fade, lose color, Amethyst to name just one.
Placing out in full moon is both excellent for cleansing and charging. But again, be cautious, some stones/crystals should not get wet either. If chance of rain, heavy dew, I always place those stones in a little clear plastic bag.

So I recently charged my newly bought crystals in the full moon for a few days as I skimmed and read in here to do from one of the other forum threads, and I didn't wash them/cleanse them before hand. Does it matter if I cleanse them after now? Will it ruin the charge that the full moon charged them with?

Also, when handling my Aquamarine, I got grubby hands after and I have been wearing them ever since I bought them without cleansing them once.
