A boy?

There was once a boy who was walkng along noticing that his universe was a perfect mirror for his soul. When he expected debt he was given debt, when he expected happiness he was given hapiness, when he expected to be lucky he was lucky and unlucky he was unlucky. One day he realised that he was not his soul he was in fact the mirror.

Also if the first shall be last and the last first, does that not mean that the first and last are one and the same. Obvious but not too.

Mirrors?

Hi Dreamer,

If we take your example of us being the Mirror, then can I ask who's making the reflection? Do you believe the entirity of existence really all equals zero?

What does that mean in terms of morality if we are 'all one/none'?

Your servant,

Das

Hi Dasa,

The character is the mirror, one makes the reflection. When the character realises it is one it becomes free from the illusion that the character is anything more than a mirror for the one.

As for morality, if we are one then there is no morality just feeling, and when eventualy the feeling settles to balance the one is at peace which could be viewed as a zero, if you want to go that way.

Well said , not to mention morality just being a man made judgement (speaking in terms of being engrossed in the illusion of course ) of which certain thing we should or shouldn

But isn't the very fact that something exists proof then the universe doesn't equal zero?

Surely for a mirror to give an illusory reflection there must still be a reality which it is reflecting imperfectly in the first place?

Misconceiving one thing for another thing is called illusion. For example, accepting a rope as a snake is illusion, but the rope is not false. The rope, as it exists in the front of the illusioned person, is not at all false, but the acceptance is illusory. Therefore the wrong conception of accepting this material manifestation as being divorced from the energy of the Lord is illusion, but it is not false. And this illusory conception is called the reflection of the reality in the darkness of ignorance. Anything that appears as apparently not being "produced out of God's energy" is called maya (illusion). The conception that the living entity is formless or that the Supreme Lord is formless is also illusion.

Das

Hello Creator,

Our personal conceptions of morality may be man-made judgements, to which I agree it would be virtually impossible to get everyone in the world to agree on. However, if the Supreme Being Himself hands down a set of laws regarding morality, then how can we argue these are not Absolute in nature?

If anyone wants to compete with God and at the same time make advancement in spiritual knowledge, he will be frustrated. It is clearly stated in the scriptures of the world that without humility, understanding is not truly possible. To think oneself God is most puffed up. Although the living entity is always being kicked by the stringent laws of material nature, he still thinks, "I am God" because of ignorance. The beginning of knowledge, therefore, is humility. One should be humble and know that he is subordinate to the Supreme Lord. Due to rebellion against the Supreme Lord, one becomes subordinate to material nature (maya: illusion). One must know and be convinced of this truth.

Om Tat Sat,

your servant,

Das

Who said zero is nothing? Is total peace nothing or is it total peace? Nothing is something too or else it could not be named.

A Sufi was stoned to death and went to heaven. Not long after, a man who had witnesed that death also died and went to heaven. He was indignant to find that the Sufi was also there. He enquired to God, 'Why is this Sufi here in heaven, and yet the Pharaoh, who said the same thing, is in hell?' God replied, 'When the Pharaoh said he was God, he was thinking of himself. When the Sufi said he was God, he was thinking of me.'

Diogenes, the famous cynic philosopher, argued that to be happy one must rid himself of all riches, honors, powers, and all the enjoyments of life. And he practiced what he preached, going barefoot through Athens, never wearing a coat, eating coarse foods, and inveighing against corruption and comfort. Diogenes was, in fact convinced of his superiority and did not hesitate to abuse those who disagreed with him. It is reported that Socrates once said to him...'I see your vanity through the holes in your garments.'

Even more telling is the incident of Diogenes visit to Plato in his home. When the cynic walked across Plato's beautifully and richly carpeted floors, he stopped, glared at his host stamped his foot squarely on the carpet, and said, 'Thus do I tread on the pride of Plato,' 'Yes,' said Plato...And with greater pride.'
