I have heard of being lucky, blessed, gifted, anointed - but, my thinking was
these came by way of humility...
maybe from work done from a previous life?

I think when we have transformative, mind-blowing experiences when
vast understandings are 'downloaded'
into our minds - it is obvious we have had nothing to do with it.

Is some Divine Grace happening to us and not our friends?
Looks like it ---but the way I figure it I was such a dope and extremely slow learner my Father rolled
His eyes and said - 'Ok, ok - I can't stand it anymore how stuck you are!"
And tosses me a bone of 'seeing' with Cosmic Consciousness to wake me up already.

No, I just needed more help than others to break free of my loop of ignorance and suffering in this Illusion! Thank You, Lord!!!
Or this all-pervading Consciousness, Presence that sees what I need and
has pity on me!!!

The "Superior Mind" is still a thing and thus not "It". Well, at least from a non-dual perspective. The whole point of meditation is to get the mind, even a superior one, out of the way in order to facilitate realization.

EDIT: Oh, I see. The OP is using that phrase in the negative, in a very egoic sense. Just sounds like arrogance, hubris, lack of humility.

There are some loops you're best out of, Miss H, and this is one of them. Hip and cool isn't always right. I think what he means there is narcissistic personality disorder, which is all but identical to what he's describing. It's the mind that thinks it's superior but it invariably shows that it isn't after all. It's the one that will always stand its ground regardless of even common sense to the contrary in order to maintain its own superiority.

The 'bone' of Cosmic Consciousness is far more palatable to chew on.

One must ask, what do we mean by 'thoughts' ? When we put two and two together we are given a thought. But this type of thought is reached through the rational and logical mind. It is reliant on our ability to 'remember'......remembering things that we have been exposed to....other people's thoughts....and deriving a conclusion from that and calling it a thought.

On the other hand, how many times in a lifetime can we legitimately say that we just had a new thought ? Something we have never heard elsewhere or read about ? It is new to us and is like an epiphany. Later we might read that someone else has made the same observation prior to us. But often we remember that it was quite distinctive to us and will always be remembered as an epiphany. I would suggest that this kind of thought is that which we can feel that we were graced.....touched by the Spirit if you will.
