A thought

Every moment of consciousness is its own form of meditation. No particular bodily position necessary. Only a total awareness of everything brought on by the choices one makes from moment to moment.

I agree and disagree with you atm. :) Perhaps it is different for those more advanced/skilled, but for myself, there is a distinct difference for me, on/off the proverbial mat. BUT, also, mediation is a lifestyle. And found it really helpful to take every moment as an opportunity for awareness and as a meditation. I imagine there are people whose LIVE meditation, or have total awareness in each moment.

So my question, what have you found helpful in bringing total awareness in every moment?

Focusing on my breath helps me to stay totally aware. If I find my thoughts running off, I remind myself of my breath and this brings an "outer" awareness so to speak of what is happening; then I become conscious of my thoughts in a third person view rather than thinking them in first person.
