art is in fact the creative expression of one's soul...and it's very important for me and I want my kids grow in the art atmosphere.

I am an artist and I feel that art is very important in my life. I realize it may not be that important to everyone. I've found that it is important for me to create some form of art as often as possible in order for me to keep a healthy balance. Tapping into that creative space and allowing different types of art to flow through me helps me feel more alive and connected with Source.

I agree that abstract art especially seems to unsettle many people. Some of my most popular pieces have been my abstract paintings. Then on the other hand, some of my least popular paintings have been some of my abstract paintings. Either you love abstract art with a passion or you despise it with an equal passion. At least that's what I've found.

I feel that whether you create art or collect it, it helps put you in touch with your right brain for a while and that helps keep us balanced from all the left brain activities we are faced with every day. So I suppose I feel that art is important to help maintain a balance in our lives.

I think it's important. I used to dive into it and get lost. It took me away. I loved creating. I had gotten away from it and need to get back and make time...Looking at all these wonderful creations SF people have posted...I'm in awe.

Art is a mirror - angled, tinted but a mirror none the less. Most obviously for the creating artist, more subtly but equally powerful for the observer.

The artwork becomes a means for the viewer to understand their own psyche as they use their own imagination and experiences to analyse and interpret the piece learning a little about themselves in the process... To really engage with another's artwork is an act of creativity in itself. :)

Seen a meme that said "Earth without art is just eh."

Anyone who knows me knows I am an art lover.

Art is also a symbol and symbols are very powerful; think of something like the Swastika or the Cross. Because Art is a symbol is holds much power.

Art is important because it is a higher form of communication. I enjoy the classical masters, DC comics, Andy Warhol, Dali, or even Charlie Brown. But often simplicity is simply the best - like the paintings of the late Olivia Robertson.
