Strive To Go To A Better Place Than Where One Was Before Birth

I concur with your conclusion.

If I may add to that metaphysical understanding...

Ideally, upon transitioning, one has the ability to expand one's consciousness in The Light to a higher dimension than where one resided before birth - due to the spiritual growth achieved while in the flesh.

To just return to the plane one was at prior to incarnating would not be spiritually productive.

For advanced souls who have had more than one lifetime of service to The Light: the spiritual goal is to become a Co-Creator after death and thereby have the energy available in The Light whereby one can improve upon the basic human condition. There is no greater free-energy system than The Light of God.

Which reminds me of a well-known quote:

Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.
― Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Cheers!

All I know is that I saw a LOT of people in my hospital room, just outside the curtain, yet I could still see their white shapes thru the curtain. It was a lot of people, not doctors, not nurses....they were facing me. I could hear them and their conversations.

I also felt the presence of two people standing behind me by my bed, who were not doctors or nurses.

I could hear them talking and speaking.

I had glimpses of future events, that scarily have been coming to pass and there is still moreto come from what iI can recall.

The glimpses of the future is what kind of haunts me.

I also remember being in a place where people were lining up to choose their next rebirth. I backed away from this area and ultimately survived my ordeal.

It was all very strange. Yet at the same time, no real fear, except for the future events portion that keeps my head spinning.

Near-death experiences can definitely do this to people. You describe a classic interpersonal scenario.

Can you share with us the insight you have been given about future events?

Thanks.

(1 Corinthians 13).

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
Does not behave itself rudely, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, keeps no record of evil;
Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see in a mirror dimly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
And now abides faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

Reposted for examination and meditation.

This strange post implies that our consciousness and our soul are two completely distinct entities. Can anyone confirm or elaborate on this idea?

Near death experiences are different for different cultures. Westerners see the tunnel and the light, or meet with dead relatives. A more primitive culture, a tribe in the Amazon for example, are simpler. One would take a canoe to an island, stay there for a couple days and row back. An atheist could argue that this is proof of no God. But an atheist has the same visions at death as a believer. God is beyond our human comprehension, we need symbolism to connect. Joseph Campbell says that this is the reason for art and poetry. The human mind needs that inference of putting words and or symbols together to surpass the limitations of language. His book The Hero With a Thousand Faces illustrates the monomyth. He says every story ever told is about the heros journey. From Star Wars to Jesus, it's man's need for transcendence.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Someone said this:

The "soul or spirit" is that part of us that enables us to be aware of ourselves.
It is the essence of life, eternal and its' substance lies outside the physical parameters of the Universe.

Shut off the physical aspects of consciousness in the body through anesthesia, the soul is still in the body,
but the connection is shut off.
The soul can no longer use the senses of the body until these connections are turned back on.

Anesthesia shuts down brain activity at the microtubules, if I'm not mistaken it is at the quantum level of thought.

Thanks Miss Hepburn for posting the video! When I made the post I was still a newbie and wasn't allowed links in my posts.
