Thanks Shaunc, haven't read thebook so I will treat myself to it when I,ve finished the ones I have. The documentary ' Jesus was a Buddhist monk ' answered a lot of questions for me, fascinating ideas, I surpose anything is possible.

I would say buddha is a title/state of being, the same way christ is a title. I'm not too sure where Krishna would stand, but these three are often compared to each other.

I have also thought about Mary and Kuan Yin, and yes it's highly possible. I've read somewhere of her refusing some sort of promotion to buddhahood or something, and promising to incarnate as many times and in as many places as needed to help everyone in the world. That said, she could possibly have also been goddess brighid, mother theresa, possibly aphrodite? And many other beings throughout history.

On that note archangel michael couldve been mars/lugh, gabriel could have been hermes/athena, etc.

The same enlightenment? Are you implying there are more than one?

Not so my good sir/lady, though it is true that we all have our own road to walk up the mountain so to speak, we are all headed for the same summit.

Not only did they reach the same enlightenment, a part of that enlightenment is the understanding of the duality of the individual/ego vs. the universal consciousness. This realization brings about the state of oneness, whereby Jesus, Buddha, and the various other enlightened masters are one and the same; linked by a shared state of being.

Thanks for the read Celeste. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Although human nature being what it is, it's always easier to enjoy reading something you agree with rather than something you don't. The author certainly found a lot more similarities between the two than I would have. It'd be great for all of us if someone that was familiar with Hinduism could do a similar comparison with Krishna.
