Transgenerational Trauma

Hi
I have been on this road to healing for a number of years now (6-7 to be exact). I have made good progress in this area but I'm still not quite where I would like to be.

I think the issue I am dealing with Transgenerational Trauma - Emotional wounds which have been passed down over many generations. My mother suffers very low self worth and esteem and my father is a alcoholic - who I have never really had much of a relationship with. This upbringing left me with considerable wounding which I believe I have passed onto my son.

I recently had a experience during an altered state of consiousness which brought this transgenerational trauma to light. It seems to me that something such as this must have incredibly deep roots. I wondered if anyone has any experience of dealing with something like this? The only real option I have heard about is seeking the help of a Shaman. But I am not sure.

Thanks.

All parents pass on their wounds as we don't heal them before choosing mates and procreating it is inevitable.

It would be quite a gift for your son though to learn how to heal your wounds so you can teach him and perhaps he will be healed before he passes them on.

If you google shamanic recapitulation, it is a method of doing what you seek.
I highly recommend it.

It's great that you've realized it at least, many parents don't see their emotional wounds or recognize the patterns of TT ever, and if they do, pride gets in the way and communication is difficult. Have you looked into the shamanic healing TheGlow recommended?
