i haven't made a study of alien species, yet i'm familiar with the topic.
grey aliens are perhaps the most commonly reported variety involving "encounters".
the current thinking, that i'm aware of, involves the idea that there are
a 'family' of species inhabiting various portions of space. the greys,
although quite often experienced as being indifferent, or even hostile
to humans, are thought to be the most advanced of this family (at least
in a technological sense). the species most like humans are said to be
pleiadians. there are also arcturians, and four(?) other species in the family.

the greys are usually described as being short in stature, though there are
said to be a taller version as well. i think the Betty and Barney Hill abduction

it might be better to begin exploring about the pleiadians first.

for some reason, the dream you'd described had me thinking of something
'babylonian' looking. like the statue of nabu 'come to life'.

the main thing to be aware of, i believe, is that there's no true reason
for the fear. there's nothing out there intending you harm. the feeling
of terror may be a signal that you're needing to adjust your perceptions.

I agree; I feel intrigued, not frightened. I'd like to think I'm a believer with a healthy dose of skepticism. I usually go with what resonates or feels right. I still enjoy learning and always keep an open mind.

Just a quick update: I am not finding anything that "feels" like the answer. I looked into the link you provided on Nabu and it doesn't appear similar to what I saw. The eyes are best described as almond shaped, but to an extreme. Perhaps 2 - 3 times the size of a human and completely black. The mouth was also very wide, stretching across the majority of the face. Otherwise, the body was proportional, just very tall.

Most of what I read on the different species appeared to be benevolent with the exception of the Greys. I'm not convinced it was an interaction with them though. I do believe you are right as far as it being a test to see how they would be perceived. In the dream, I see them and immediately am frightened. So I can understand how it would play out as it did; They pick a woman up and proceed to tear into her with their mouths and I immediately run and hide. Therefore, I am basically dictating the dream due to my reaction of fear.

Of course, I hope that whatever I experienced is good natured, but I am not frightened. Hopefully, I do find some answers or more clues.

through consciousness we can choose what we wish our creations to be.
non-consciously directed creations may be out of alignment with intentions.
the idea i'd had in regards to your dream was of some 'advanced beings'
coming to terms with their subconscious creations -- ascertaining if they
might be 'redeemable', and brought into loving harmony with the whole.
if humanity is 'hellbent' on viewing life/existence as fearful, it would be a
kindness to remove life essence from them... to withdraw the energy
expended in forming them, and give them peace. meeting one's maker
is only fearful to those who imagine an unloving creator (so i believe).

This sounds like what we as humans experience too. Aren't we all at some point hoping we can be redeemed? I can understand another being working towards the same. Also, your reference: "Non-consciously directed creations may be out of alignment with intentions" speaks to me. Perhaps revealing an element of the dream in regards to my own intentions and alignment.
