Focused attention meditation

Focusing the attention on a single object during the whole meditation session. This object may be the breath, a mantra, visualization, part of the body, external object, etc. As the practitioner advances, his ability to keep the flow of attention in the chosen object gets stronger, and distractions become less common and short-lived. Both the depth and steadiness of his attention are developed.

Examples of these are: Samatha (Buddhist meditation), some forms of Zazen, Loving Kindness Meditation, Chakra Meditation, Kundalini Meditation, Sound Meditation, Mantra Meditation, Pranayama, some forms of Qigong, and many others.

Thank you for sharing this. I have also found that the more you focus the stronger your focus becomes
and there comes a point where your concentration is holding you and you are not holding your concentration.

The spiritual institution of prajapita brahmakumaris,a monotheistic religion, also teaches meditation in a similar way. The focus is on a point of light depicting God and constantly contemplating on it with love.

If a some body focuss attention on body parts either it is in between eye brows.that focuss become a habit and will tease him whole the even not trying it then what should be done
