What do dogs dream about ?

We have two wonderful bulldogs, and when they are sleeping i always wonder what they are dreaming about ? Sometimes they make funny noises when they are dreaming.

Just curious to know.
Thanks

i'm gonna assume that it'll be things at their level of awareness...
stuff that they might interact with regularly.
dealing with other dogs would probs be high on the list, and also
things that they particularly enjoy, or have a fear about might
make frequent appearances. dogs especially might have dreams
involving humans (more so than with other pets i'd guess).

I think it might be similar to how we play back things in life and mix things up maybe...

I had a mix and he was smart. I would teach him what I wanted to do obedience wise; he'd get it right once maybe twice and I'd say good dog and then let him take a nap and he's sleep, and when he woke up he recalled what I taught perfect most times, so I think when he dreamed he was rehearsing experiences of the day.

also two twitches like running. and light-alert woof; so maybe that was interacting with a friend. I don't recall him ever doing fearful noises in his sleep.

Well if it IS possible that one can astral project with other animals, then that would be the best way to find out! :O

My previous dog was often running when dreaming, his legs actually ran while he layed there... What was he chasing?!

i've had pets that might have a disturbing dream on occasion.
when i've heard them whimpering, and seen them flinching, i
pet them for reassurance and they immediately calm down...
but they've almost never awoken from the dream to show
appreciation for my efforts. XD
