Childhood Stories and Decapitation
I'm not sure if this story should go in this section but I think it may lead to an interesting discussion.
Have you ever asked your friends and family if they remember what kinds of stories they made up for their dolls and toys when they were children? Most people remember a certain type of story they followed. It's a lot of fun recollecting and I feel that sometimes the type of stories one crafted as a child says a lot about a person even as an adult.
My stories usually involved a kidnapping and rescue. Fluffy girly stuff with princess and monsters, etc. But I remember this one story which was particularly out of the norm for me. It was a short story too..or perhaps I'm forgetting how it ended. Though I acted this out the my dolls, I imagined this with real people in a vivid, almost dream like realism in my head. I think that's why I remember it so well.
The story began as a young woman was led in a cart to be executed by a guillotine. It may have been the French Revolution but I just remembered a very large and angry mob. My heroine gracefully walked up the steps, swept her hair to the side and happily got into the deadly contraption. Because it was all part of her plan. Like she was almost glad to go. As the blade fell, her soul went soaring past galaxies in exhilarated freedom. I remember visualizing the purple-reddish clouds in space and endless sea of stars. I had the impression of she was either going home or somewhere else for she had something more important to do.
And that's all I remember coming up with actually. I just think the story I odd for me. Scenes of intense hatred and violence still makes me uncomfortable. But I also made a decision at a young age to not fear death because it's the relief of all pain and it's a waste of time to consumed by the fear of it anyway.
I wonder now if it's a snip it of a past life experience. I'm still extremely attracted to that whole era. I don't know. What do you think? What kind of stories did you make up as a child?
